Biggest Daytime Fireworks Show Ever -- Mathaf Opening of Cai Guo-Qiang: Saraab
At the Arab Museum of Modern Art in Doha, Qatar this week, Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang put on his largest "explosion event" of the last three years, utilizing microchip-controlled explosives to form incredible designs and patterns. The video we've embedded of the event is an impressive testament to how a volatile black powder explosion can be controlled and shaped by computer. Each set of explosions was calculated to paint a different picture. One series of explosions created black smoke clouds that looked like "drops of ink splattered across the sky." In another, 8300 shells embedded with computer microchips exploded in a pyramid shape over the desert.

Just installed the C&L Cold Air Intake, Roush Axel-Back Exhaust, and the Bama 93 Custom Tune. Love the sound of the new exhaust even though it is kind of loud and I can definitely feel the difference with the CAI and the tune. Feels like a different car. I bested a 13.75 in the quarter when I was stock so I look forward to seeing what I get with these upgrades. I will be posting that vid up as soon as I get a chance to run it at the quarter.

Reportaje en Onda Jerez del grupo gaditano de Rock Andaluz CAI, grabado el 1 de febrero de 2008 "MAS ALLA DE CAI" Un miércoles cualquiera, Cai se sienta alrededor de unas cervezas fresquitas, alguien da la vez y suena "El mercadillo del Piojito". Se nota la mano de El Niño pródigo, José Antonio Fernández Mariscal, cuya guitarra se habla con la de Paco Delgado. Con Fopi, el legendario batería y vocalista, ya son tres los miembros originales de la banda gaditana. Mucho más allá de las mentes diminutas que les cerraron puertas a principios de los ochenta, impidiendo el desarrollo de una carrera plagada de hitos y evolución, en la casa chiclanera de Ignacio Olivera, reconvertido milagrosamente en bajista de rotundo pulso, una sonrisa delata a Blas Lago, a las teclas blancas y negras. Tiene tela suplir en la memoria colectiva al genio Chano Domínguez, pero él lo hace con desparpajo y humildad. Mañana, a las seis de la mañana, en planta, que Blas trabaja a pie de obra. Una cosa es el talento y otra el parné, la creación y la construcción. La nueva formación de Cai, desprovista de la sección de vientos, retorna a sus raíces y ensaya con intensidad de cara a los conciertos del estío y la cita de la Bienal de Sevilla, que ilusiona a los músicos como si fuera un punto de partida. Por vez primera, en septiembre, el flamenco rendirá tributo al rock andaluz, más vale tarde que nunca, y un montón de grupos se reunirán para regocijo del personal. Veinte minutos tendrá cada banda.
