Facebook friends!! www.facebook.com Lets tweet! www.twitter.com Here's how to make calzones...the best BBQ Chicken Calzone! 1 Cup Shredded or Diced Chicken ½ Cup Onion (yellow or red work great) ½ Cup BBQ Sauce 1-2 Tsp. Cayenne Pepper (depending on how hot you like it) ½ Cup Mozzarella Cheese 1 Tube Pizza Crust Sprinkle of Garlic Powder and Parmesan Cheese for the tops Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees. Line a baking sheet with foil and spray with some cooking oil. Put your chicken in a bowl. Finely chop the onion and add that to the chicken along with the BBQ sauce and cayenne pepper. Mix together. Then roll out your pizza crust. Sprinkle some flour on the counter and on top so it doesn't stick and roll out until about ¼ inch thick. Then using a bowl or cup, depending on how big you want the calzones, use the top to cut out the circles. Then lets build the calzone...putting a big tablespoon of the chicken and sauce mixture right in the middle. Top with mozzarella cheese and then fold one side over to the other. Pinch the sides together to completely seal so the filling does spill out while baking. Put onto your baking sheet, spray with a little cooking spray and then sprinkle your Parmesan cheese and garlic powder on top for an extra tasty crust. Then in the oven they go for about 12-14 minutes until the top is nice and golden brown!! All done and in less than 20 minutes the best BBQ chicken Calzone you will EVER EAT!!

Ingredients: Dough: 3 cups bread flour 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 1 cup 110 degree water 1 tablespoon sugar 1 package yeast Sauce: 14 oz. diced tomato 6 oz. tomato paste 1 tablespoon Gourmet Garden Italian herb blend 4 cloves garlic chopped 1 small chopped white onion Fillings: Mozzarella Grated parmesan Pepperoni slices Italian sausage Preparation: Add 1 tablespoon sugar and 1 package yeast to 1 cup 110 degree water Wait 10 minutes until foamy Add yeast mixture to flour olive oil and salt. Mix and knead 5 minutes. Cover for 1 hour in coated bowl. Knead 5 minutes. Cut into 4 pieces Combine ingredients for sauce, simmer for 30 minutes and then cool to room temperature Preheat oven to 550 degrees Cover center of dough with sauce cheese sausage and pepperoni. Ingredients for Pizza Dough 2 tsp active dry yeast (optional) 1 cup warm water 1 Tbsp sugar 2 Tbsp vegetable oil 1 tsp salt (garlic salt is preferred). 1 egg to brush on before popping in oven. 2 to 3 cups flour Ingredients for Filling: Pizza / Spaghetti Sauce Mozzarella Cheese or cottage cheese Bacon / Ham / Ground Beef or whatever you like! As much as you like. PIZZA DOUGH DIRECTIONS: Mix together your sugar, oil, salt and 1 cup of flour. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic. Filling: Mix all your ingredients together. If you are using vegetables like peppers or onions, you should fry them or cook them first. All meats should also be cooked before mixing with other foods. Finishing Hot Pocket/Pizza Pop/Calzone: Roll the dough thinly on a floured surface. Make it as thin as possible. Cut as desired. You can make circles, half circles or squares. In this video, I made half circles by cutting a large round dough in half, spreading filling in the middle of one piece, placing the other piece of dough on top, and cutting pieces out with a glass. This is a great recipe for pizza dough. Can be used for pizza, calzones, focaccia or bread. The video shows the entire process fairly succinctly; however, there is one point that you may be confused about: which is that the bread dough rises two times, first for approx 45-75 minutes, the you will punch it down and knead for about 2 minutes and then allow it to rise again for about 45-75 minutes.
