Here's my video just at a higher resolution in case anyone wanted to see it. www.vimeo.com So I just received my Canon HV20 and I took it to a local park to shoot a little test video with it. I captured the video using HDVSplit into .m2t format and then imported into Adobe Premier 2 to do my edits. The video was shot in 24p however the 24p video stream is embedded in 60i. In order to get the 24p video you need to perform a 2:3 pull down to extract the 24p video from the 60i stream. I didn't get around to doing this but I'll try to mess around with that and upload it in the future. This video was exported as a 640x480 .wmv however I kept the picture in the same 16x9 aspect ratio that the HV20 natively shoots in. If you have any questions or comments feel free, I'd love to discuss this camera with other Canon HV20 owners. _______________________________ UPDATE: So I've been asked a lot about my opinion on this camera since posting this clip and I thought I'd add my response to a fellow youtuber who asked me this very question. __________________________________ What I can tell you is that I've been VERY impressed with the HV20. At the time that I bought it I must have downloaded every uncompressed video clip from every HD camera in the price range of the HV20 and read every thread talking about the camera. This is my second try with Canon hv20 + vibrating 35mm adapter. Unfortunately my focus screen (canon ee-a) is heavilly damaged, but execpt that, you can see clearly the quality of video and colour of this camera + 35mm adapter from Worley. No colour correction, only some cropping . The most difficult part is that you have a very liitle monitor for propper focus.

This is a test i did with my canon HV20 and letus 35 flip enhanced using a 35mm SLR lens (50mm @ 2.0) shot outdoors on an overcast day. when putting the footage on my computer it didnt seem sharp, confused i tried to find out why... the reason was the the hv20 was not properly focused on the letus' gg propery. Any how i took some shots and here they are. To get great shot i'm going to have to get an external HD monitor so i can focus properly the the letus and get sharp/crisp footage. Sennheiser MKE400 and Litepanels Micro on the Canon HV20
dvestore.com The first is an ultra tiny shotgun mic from Sennheiser, it's the MKE400. To give you an idea of the size, it's physical length and width is that of your pinky finger. Yes, that's one amazingly short shotgun microphone. It's surprisingly directional for such a small mic. The design team at Sennheiser was able to innovate while answering the market's request for an even smaller on-camera mic. They maintained the same high quality sound since they built the very first shotgun mic, yes, Sennheiser invented the interference tube design that all of today's shotgun mics are based on. This mic is a great upgrade to a stock mic because it improves sound, yet is so unobtrusive. Attached to a mid sized camera, I can easily maneuver through a crowd without attracting too much attention. That's great when you need to be stealth. Doberman Slow Motion
Some test footage I shot to try out some slow motion effects. It is my parent's dog Mourna and her sister Lexi. The cat's name is Leo and he loves the dirt. I used a 1/2000 shutter speed at 1080i and converted to 60p and then to 24p using After Effects. I then used the optical flow algorithm from Motion 3 to slow it down a bit more.
