Schola Cantorum Domino(Belgian) - Vêpres San Ignacio.wmv

De Domenico Zipoli 1 - 'Deus in adjutorium' 2 - 'Domine quinque' 3 - 'Dixit Dominus' 4 - 'Euge serve bone'(soloist treble: Simon Bomon) Music: Ensemble Elyma, Gabriel Garrido, director. The Schola Cantorum Cantate Domino was founded in 1959 by its current conductor, Father Michaël Ghijs. Its members are all pupils or former pupils of the St. Martin's Institute, a regular secundary school in Aalst, a town approximately 25 km from Brussels, the center of Europe. The aim of the choir, as its name expresses, is to sing to the Lord. The choir consists of 90 persons, boys and men, aged between 10 and 40. Simon was born in Aalst at the 25th of November 1991. In 2003 he joined the boyschoir 'Schola Cantorum Cantate Domino' and has been the soprano soloist for three years now. He also follows music lessons at the music school of Aalst. His teacher at the moment is the soprano Diane Verdoodt. As a boy soprano he already sung solo's of different composers. Some of these works are the Te Deum of Charpentier, the Krönungsmesse of Mozart, Handel's Messiah, Gloria of Vivaldi... He also performed at the Christmasconcert at the palace of the Royal Family of Belgium. Besides his career in the choir Simon also performed with other conductors such as Gabriel Garrido (Les vespres de San Ignacio of Zipoli), Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings Symphony), David Angus (Chichester Psalms of Bernstein). In April 2006 he will sing the soloparts in the Vepres de San Ignacio of Domenico Zipoli.

Te la ricordi Lella - Schola Cantorum

Lella - Edoardo De Angelis e Stelio Gicca Palli (1971) Do you remember Lella that rich lady the wife of Proietti the usurer who has the store at Triton Do you remember four years ago I showed her to you incredulous that she was really with me Do you remember after when she was gone and the people and the police believed that she was eloped jointly to one with more money than her husband And I want to say you that I was the one who killed her keeping myself this secret since four years I want to tell you but do not reveal around do not tell anyone keep it within yourself She liked going to the beach in winter to make love in the coldness but never took off her stockings At the mouth of stream where there is a small bar between fishing nets and abandoned boats under the gray sky to make as roof the morning of the last day of the year she said to me with her straight face - I get bored of this story so now stop take me up the zipper of the dress - And I want to say you that I was the one who killed her keeping myself this secret since four years I want to tell you but do not reveal around do not tell anyone keep it within yourself Maybe you will not believe but then I've lost my mind I grabbed her neck gripping strong no stopping until she fell to the ground out of breath Up there a tear of sun pierced the clouds and I've buried her with my hands being careful not to dirty trousers and after I went away without looking back Now I don't feel any remorse and sometimes even ...

Pale (Simon Sun) - William & Mary Schola Cantorum - Premiere Performance

Premiered April 23rd, 2011 at the Williamsburg Presbyterian Church. Sung by the William & Mary Schola Cantorum. Carl Sagan (1934-1996), a great American astrophysicist, stated that the Golden Record on the Voyager I spacecraft is not intended to actually fall into extraterrestrial hands, "but [rather that] the launching of this 'bottle' into the cosmic 'ocean' says something very hopeful about life on this planet." However, before it even left our solar system, Carl Sagan suggested to the engineers of Voyager I to take one picture of our tiny planet before it lost complete sight of Earth. As it past Saturn, Voyager I was turned around, and in conjunction with a wondrous accident of physics, took a picture of our pale blue planet, suspended in a beam of sunlight reflecting off of Voyager. This piece attempts to capture the essence of that photograph: that even though our planet is so small and apparently insignificant, it still contains so many wondrous things. That in this vast nothingness, we give our own inherently meaningless lives purpose and meaning through art, literature, theatre, music, history, science, our experiences with each other, and not least of all, love. The Angel Gabriel From Heaven Came - Schola Cantorum

This is a song we sung when I was in Schola Cantorum at St. Joseph Seminary College in Fall 2007. Of course it is an advent song, but the only pictures I could get that I felt were aesthetically pleasing enough were pics from our Easter Vigil. So, while this video is liturgically un-matching, it's still quite beautiful

Reynolds High School Pro Cantorum Choir: Legénda (A Legend)

Reynolds High School Pro Cantorum Choir OSAA State Choir Competition 2009 Legénda (A Legend) Peter Tchaikovsky Translation: When Christ was a child, He had a garden and many roses He grew therein... Three times a day He did water them, for He planned to weave Himself a wreath someday. When the roses came into full bloom, He summoned the neighborhood Hebrew children, they each plucked a flower, and the garden was bare. "How will you weave yourself a wreath?" they asked. "Your garden has no more roses in it." "You have forgotten the thorns are left for me," Chris said. And from the thorns they pleated Him a prickly wreath; and drops of blood, instead of roses, adorned his brow. - Poem by A Pleshcheyev
