Bob Hawke blows up at Richard Carleton's questioning

March 5th, 1983. An intense interview between the new head of the Labour party Bob Hawke and Richard Carelton. Best known as the "Blood that's on your hands" Interview. The deep, searching questions by Richard Carelton towards Bob Hawke over the way Hawke assumed the position of Prime Minister triggered on of the most memorable outburst by a Prime Minister during a televised broadcast. Hawke famously exploded, labeling Carelton as: "a damned impertinence" with a "reputation". He goes on to ridicule Carleton's "Integrity" and makes mention of Carelton's "silly quizical face". Enjoy!

It Gets Better From Carleton University, Canada.

My friend, Rob Nettleton, and I hosted an event at our school as part of the Dan Savage campaign for It Gets Better. We set up camp in one of the more busy places on campus and recorded messages from students and professors wishing to send the word out that it does get better. I want to thank everyone who came and showed their support. I apologize ahead of time for having to cut some pieces out (everyone is in there! Don't worry). As we had mentioned before, we really only had 6 minutes to work with (I had to extend it by a minute or so by looping the music). www.itgetsbetterproject.com www.youtube.com Lesbian Gay Bi Trans Youth Line: www.youthline.ca Pink Triangle Youth (In Ottawa, Ontario): www.pinktriangle.org The Trevor Project (US): 866-488-7386 or www.thetrevorproject.org Project LifeVest (US): 510-725-1408 or www.projectlifevest.org If there's no group for you in your school, university, college, or institution, or town, create one! Carleton University 2012 Relay for Life!!

Filmed and Edited by Paolo Milanes and Don Dimanlig in Partnership with KoMedia. There's still time to donate! Here's the link to do so: goo.gl Relay for Life is a celebration of survival, a tribute to the lives of loved and ones a night of fundraising that you will never forget! You'll be moved by the courage of cancer survivors, also by the experience of helping to make cancer history. Last year, over 400 Carleton students came together to raise over $52 000 for the Canadian Cancer Society. This year, we have raised over $74 000 so far!!! Relay for Life is a 12 hour team event that is held on the Carleton University campus. The night begins with a lap for survivors -- the strength of these survivors inspires others to continue to fight and inspired us to continue walking until dawn broke. A luminary ceremony followed (the little white decorated bags in the video), this is an opportunity to commemorate someone you know who has been touched by this disease. With live bands playing throughout the night, activities planned every hour and an opportunity to camp out and help an amazing cause; Relay was an amazing, unforgettable experience! In preparation of the event, teams of 10-12 were recommended and each team was required to raise $1000, or $100/person; whichever amount was greater. Each person knows someone who has been affected by cancer. The power each of us holds in the fight against this disease is unparalleled. Our commitment as a community is vital in the impact ...

Carleton University UAV Project

Uninhabited Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) are being developed and used in many countries around the world, mostly in military applications. However, civilian applications are increasing at a high rate and include various types of airborne surveys, such as geophysical, environmental, security and wildlife inventories, to name a few. At Carleton University we have an active project developing an integrated multi-mission UAS. The development started seven years ago as one of the final-year undergraduate projects within the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. In collaboration with Sander Geophysics Limited (SGL), an Ottawa-based geophysics company, Carleton is developing a UAS for high-resolution magnetic surveys, called GeoSurv II. SGL studies have shown that a relatively small air vehicle would be highly competitive for such surveys and, consequently, the company has been providing significant in-kind support to the undergraduate project. In 2009, the Carleton UAV Project began development of a new UAS, called Corvus. Corvus will be a modular, multi-mission system based on open-source hardware and software. The first aircraft within the Corvus system, called Rook, has a take-off weight of approximately 20kg and has a wingspan of 3.5m. This year, students have designed and begun manufacturing the Corvus-Rook Demonstrator (CR-D), which will serve as a proof-of-concept prototype to assess and verify the aircraft design.
