My brother, nephews and a friend go "fishing" down a small drainage ditch in the flooded Spoon River. They counted 70+ 5-10lb. Asian Carp once they stopped the boat. The funniest part, is that Matthew, my youngest nephew, is curled up in the fetal position in the front of the boat the entire time, and you never see him! Then I introduced a couple of variations on the hair rig. At the very end, you'll find a "dancing carp" (I swear!). Visibility was quite good today.

I have been getting the question a lot lately as to what is a boilie, and how do I make them? Seeing that our derby is less then a week away I figured now was a good time to do a tutorial on how to make a simple boilie recipe. I know plenty of other videos are out there, but I wanted one for oue website (www.blackstonecarp.com) This is a very basic recipe: Dry Mix: 2 cups dry dog food ground 2 cups flour ( I prefer soy ) Wet Mix: 2 - 4 eggs 1 tsp oil per egg Mix dry into wet until you have a workable paste. roll into balls 12mm-18mm boil 30 at a time for 3 minutes Air dry 1-2 hours minimum.
