Road Testament digs into the amazing story of how the late Carroll Shelby helped Ford unseat Enzo Ferrari as the king of sports-car racing during the mid-1960s. With special guest AJ Baime, author of "Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle For Speed and Glory at Le Mans."

This was intended to be a sort-of tribute to Carroll Shelby, who passed away May 10th, 2012 at the age of 89. Shelby, if the name sounds familiar, was the man behind the Shelby Cobra, Shelby GT500 Mustang and other bad-ass drool-worthy muscle cars throughout the decades. Unfortunately, this "tribute" ended up turning into a rage-filled fail-fest as I attempted to unlock and drive all the Shelby vehicles in Driver: San Francisco! Driver: San Francisco was released September 2011 and is available here on Steam: store.steampowered.com Thanks for watching! Carroll Shelby, who passed away recently at the age of 89, was the probably the best known practitioner of the essential "muscle car" philosophy. He put lots of horsepower into the lightest possible packages. Among the most famous, and earliest, of his creations was the AC Cobra, a car created by combining a lightweight British AC Ace sports car with a powerful Ford V8 engine. The car shown here is one of the first. In fact, it was Carroll Shelby's own personal car. It sold at auction in 2007 for $5.5 million. More "ordinary" Cobras can still sell for well over $1 million, according to Hagerty Insurance, a company that specializes in insuring collectible cars. Of course, prices like that are for real Cobras, not the innumerable copies that have been built.
