Hunting in Eastern Washington for feral boar with my dad. I shot a 750lb pig with my Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull. The shot when the pig is standing hit him between the eyes....In response to all the negative feedback. YOU PEOPLE NEED JESUS. To all you "Great Sportsman" who have never had an equipment problem or missed. You have not hunted enough. The last two shots were perfectly placed. Why is the pig shaking. I don't know...cut the head off of a chicken....I am sure it wont flinch a bit afterward! I bought this hunt a RMEF charity auction. It is in Washington, pigs are not a game animal here, it is on a ranch, get a grip.

The original concept of this video was as follows: 1. To see if materials salvaged/found could be used to make ammunition work in a last ditch effort such as swept up unburnt powder, scrap powder from the floor of a workshop, scrap bullets, etc. 2. To see if an over pressure .454 would explode the gun (which they did) 3. To see what would cause a .410 Shotgun to explode. We concluded the following: 1. A .410 Shotgun of reasonably good quality is probably one of the most useful firearms to have around. It will feasibly fire .410 shotshells, .44 magnum, .454 Casull, .30-30 WIN, and others without damage in most cases. We are not advocating you do that. 2. .410 Shotguns can take a significant amount of pressure before failing. We measured the bore for deformation and none resulted. The barrel to action tightness was not affected. 3. Some very powerful "loads" were discovered by using .454 Causull, .44 magnum, .444 Marlin, etc. A .454 coming from a .410 barrel will kill anything on the North American continent within 15 yards in a pinch. 4. A .454 Casull magnum exiting a .410 barrel would most definitely kill a human being in one shot. Considerably more kinetic energy than even the most powerful .410 shotshell. 5. Range "scrap" powders should not be used as a propellent unless deemed absolutely necessary. These experiments were conducted from a safe distance with proper protocols being followed. A medic was on hand. Do not try any of these experiments on your own.

Ruger Super Redhawk: Alaskan is a short barrelled, big bore revolver. The firearm is distinguished by its 2 1/2" barrel, brushed stainless finish, and oversize Hogue Tamer grip designed to help reduce recoil. The Alaskan is offered in .454 Casull/.45 Colt, .480 Ruger, and most recently, .44 Magnum/.44 Special. The .480 Ruger version was originally a 6 shot revolver like the .454, but was discontinued in 2007. It was reintroduced in 2008 with a 5 shot cylinder. The .44 Magnum features a fluted cylinder while the .454 and .480 versions are unfluted. The revolver is intended for use as a self-defense option against large, potentially dangerous animals such as grizzly bear, cougar, and wild boar. Some critics feel the Alaskan's barrel is too short for such a large caliber revolver, while others believe its relatively compact size, coupled with big game stopping power, makes it a practical "pack gun" for hiking, fishing, or hunting trips in the wilderness. The large magnum cartridges do suffer ballistically from the short barrel, but still produce considerably more energy than is typically available from a compact firearm.

after getting the acura washed and cleaned inside and out for a carshow on sunday, me and my dad went to LAGC (la gun club) and rented a buncha guns. to finish off the session, i rented a Taurus Raging Bull 454 Casull revolver. the biggest gun i had fired before the 454 was a 44 magnum (dirty harry revolver) about 10 minutes earlier. next time im renting a s&w 500!

This is a video show and tell of my Ruger Super Redhawk in 454 Casull. I wanted something with much more power than my Taurus Raging Bull .41 magnum, and the Super Redhawk in 454 Casull fit the bill. I had a lot of trouble finding one, and of course, after I bit the bullet and purchased the 460 S&W Magnum, one became available and I picked that up too. And here it is!

This has been in the works for a while. I finally had the time to finish it. It is an overview of the process but it has enough details to get the point across. I have seen and heard some strange and down right wrong things about reloading. So I had to do some research on some aspects and I got some truly professional advise. I did leave out types of powder and amounts on purpose. That will be up to you how much recoil you are willing to handle. I like to load them hot and heavy. I hope this video will be a good resource for my 454 Casull Brethren.

Im not sure why I didnt load 5, probably b/c its about 2$ per round to shoot. A day of shooting can get expensive with this stuff. We knew the gun was powerful from watching videos, but you really need to feel this thing to appreciate it. On my camera I have super slo mo which is pretty awesome to watch.
