Too much stuff! Trying to stay organized with my Battery chargers, I decided to do an extreme makeover my 12 Volt Rack. The first one, was designed by me and Published in Model Aviation Magazine in Sept, 1993, when RC electrics were just being born. Today's 12 Volt rack can be easily transported to the field and can be plugged into the car cigar lighter too. The reason being, you can't really play with it while it's charging. Of course there are different means to overcome this little inconvenient, but perhaps it's worth considering the purchase of a dedicated charging station. There are many out there (more on this soon...), but in the meantime you can check the official Sony one in this video analysis I put together. It's quite a nice piece of kit I believe. Enjoy! During my recent shop healing session, I realized I needed a better way to store my drills and chargers. This simple wall-hanging box did the trick. I also wanted to make the project fast and easy, so I decided to try out the DowelMax for the first time. The system is a breeze to use and produces strong reliable joints in just a fraction of the time it takes to create a traditional mortise and tenon. Fee free to download the SketchUp Drawing for this project if you want to make your own. But I encourage you to use this as a starting point and build upon it. UMD is the only institution of higher education in the region to have these stations installed and ready for use by electric vehicle owners on and off campus.
