As I said in the video, I didnt feel like doing the entire song, and I also needed time to make my announcements. For the chorus I just figured out different parts in my head by listening to the chorus a couple times and assigned each tenor saxophone a different part/melody to play. Basically, Tenor 1 (tan shirt) plays what T-Pain sings. Tenor 2 (black shirt) plays the mid-backup harmonies that can be easily sung and heard in the track. Tenor 3 (green shirt) plays the higher parts, and also does a little melody that I created in the later chorus. Finally, Tenor 4 (purple polo) plays a lower melody that I created throughout, and later plays Tenor 2s part in the lower octave. Special thanks to Marisa for giving me ideas with the Tenor 4! The solo was inspired by some things that were on my mind. And yes, I do add a little bit of Souljah Boys Kiss Me Thru The Phone in the freestyle haha. Enjoy! Again, it's me, charlez360, on all instruments (just to clear up any possible confusion). I composed the original version of this song a while back (3, 4 weeks), and it was more a rap track, that had a lot of synth in the chorus. Then, the other day, I was messing around on guitar (I'm trying to teach myself slowly), and I happened to figure out the three chords for the song. Immediately, I made the beat, and recorded the guitar part. After that, I remembered that I still had my bass guitar, so I recorded that part on it too. The rap and the chorus had already been written, so I just recorded them again with some different, more "chill" effects. Of course, I'm a saxophonist at heart, so I recorded another, different sax solo for this song as well. I know most of you are a bit confused as to why/how I'm playing bass and guitar in this song, but I actually started teaching myself bass guitar a few years after I started learning saxophone, so... this isn't anything new haha. If you're in a bad mood or feeling down, I highly recommend listening to the original version (which is just singing and guitar). This track was produced, arranged, edited, mastered, and recorded by me. So, this was truly a charlez360 production...and the video was choreographed by myself as well! hahaha I had the tenor saxophone that was playing the bari-like part have a different motion, because I wanted it to seem like the bari-tenor was controlling or directing the other three saxophones. This was such a fun song/video to record and play, I think I really let loose on this one. I apologize for the lack of video on the freestyle part at the end, but I didn't have the camera setup when I recorded that part, and it was too much to lip synch with the sax. I recorded this at about 11:00pm last night, and quite frankly, it was a shitty night. I'm quite surprised that this recording turned out decent. I went up to the music practice rooms in the music building here at my university, and all of the rooms were taken. And because I'm not a music major, I am unable to reserve rooms, I just have to show up and see what's available. From 7:00 to 8:30, I waited for a room. When finally went up there to see if they were free, I got one! Yay, right? NO. I unpack all my equipment and I see that I forgot my headphones. How could I? That's like, forgetting my sax!! Haha SO, I had to run back to my dorm room in the cold, and get them. I made it in 11 minutes, and then I went up there, exhausted, and recorded this track. Long story. For nothing. Hahaha just a little insight into my hectic life, and what went into recording this last night. I hope you guys like it. The mp3 will be available soon, but I wanna mix it correctly and add some solo material from other takes that weren't recorded on video.
