Charlton may have sunk to the lowly depths of league one, but there can be no doubting this is a special club, with a dedicated fan base. Charlton are the onlyfootball club to of had a political party. We have also given the world one of the greatest games, Charlton 4-4 Sunderland(7-6 pens). We won the FA Cup in 1947, play-offs 1998, Division 1 Champions 2000. This video is a reminder to all Charlton fans what can be achieved in football and what Charlton can achieve again. Charlton Athletic 2006-2010

This is a collection of the better moments of arguably one of the poorest spells in the clubs history. During this spell the club went through four managers - Iain Dowie, Les Reed, Alan Pardew and Phil Parkinson. The club is now managed by Chris Powell under the watchful eye of a new and ambitious board. Hopefully Charlton will rise up again and give us many more happy memories. The song is by: Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Isreal Kamakawiwo'ole and all rights belong to his respective record label (s).

Charlton Heston; From My Cold Dead Hands. Long Version

My hero, Mr. Charlton Heston. "From my cold dead hands" THE SECOND AMENDMENT VINDICATED! The Court said; "'The people' . . . unambiguously refers to all members of the political community" and "The very text of the Second Amendment implicitly recognizes the pre-existence of the right and declares only that it 'shall not be infringed.'" -United States Supreme Court www.newsbull.com Obama gun facts; www.gunbanobama.com Charlton Heston's closing remarks at the 2000 NRA annual meeting in Charlotte North Carolina. He was a very fine American. Those five words; From MY Cold Dead Hands. This man was a true Patriot. Freedom of the individual. Governments derive their just power from the governed (the people). People should not fear their government, their government should fear the people. He believed in personal freedom so much that he gave the last good years of his life to freedoms cause. He was basically spat on by the not so far left, and ridiculed by the left. He definitely served his country well. Back during this speech the NRA was having internal conflicts about how to fight those who would take our liberties away. Some were of the notion that we had to be bold and radical in defending our rights no matter who we offended, while others wanted a more balanced approach that didn't alienate the average gun owner. Mr Heston gave to us the last good years of his life bringing the NRA back together and making it the force for freedom that it is today, and I thank him for that ...

1998-05-25 - Charlton 4-4 Sunderland - Sky Sports Classics

A thrilling game, the 1998 play off final at Wembley. Clive Mendonca scores the first goal to put Charlton in the lead, Niall Quinn makes it 1-1 early in the second half. Then shortly after Kevin Phillips puts Sunderland in the lead, right before Mendonca scores his second. to make it 2-2. Quinn makes it 3-2 to Sunderland, then Richard Rufus scores to make it 3-3 and send the game into extra time. Nicky Summerbee scores to once again restore Sunderlands lead, before Mendonca completes his hat trick to send the game to penalties. Sunderland & Charlton go on to score their spot kicks to send it to sudden death, Michael Gray ended up missing his take and Charlton are promoted to the Premiership. Charlton Heston in Space; "Does Man...Still Make War against His Brother?" Planet of the Apes (1968)

This is one of my favorite movies ever. I'll never forget at the end of the movie when he realizes that he is back home and that we had blown ourselves up, and then he damned us all to hell. Other than Charlton Heston damning us all to hell, it's a really good movie, and I would recommend it to anyone. When I first started watching this movie I was thinking, what are the odds of landing on another planet and finding apes that speak English? Because of that I thought the movie was a little bit far fetched until at the end when he found the statue of liberty, then it all made sense. I think it's kind of cool how he's smoking a cigar in a space ship. I really like how he puts it in his pocket before he goes into deep hibernation, like he's saving it for later, just in case they don't have cigars in the future. Very smart thinking on his part. jbranstetter04 Plot Planet of the Apes is a 1968 science fiction/thriller film directed by Franklin J. Schaffner loosely based on the novel La planète des singes by Pierre Boulle. The film stars Charlton Heston, Roddy McDowall, Kim Hunter and veteran Shakespearean actor Maurice Evans. The film was ground-breaking for its make-up techniques by artist John Chambers. The script was originally written by Rod Serling but had many rewrites before eventually being made. Changes included character names and a more primitive ape society, instead of the more expensive idea of having futuristic buildings and advanced technology. The film was well ...

Charlton 4 - 0 FC Halifax Town - FA Cup

TOWN'S players can hold their heads high after a magnificent display against the League One leaders in an enthralling FA Cup first round clash at the Shay. Town gave everything they had for 80 minutes - and had been the better side for long spells - before Charlton got their second goal to kill off the tie. The Addicks went on to score a further two goals in the final seven minutes - and the Shaymen had Danny Lowe rather harshly red carded - to make it appear from the scoreline like a convincing win. But the full time professionals will have known they had been in a game by the final whistle which signalled the end of a good day for football in Halifax.

Charlton Heston Tribute

Here is an inspirational song performed by the great Mahalia Jackson, chosen to illustrate the fabulous figure of Charlton Heston, an all-American hero. Charlton Heston (born John Charles Carter; 1923 -- 2008) was an American actor of film, theater and television. A brawny, virile classical actor whose physical presence, intelligent performances and authoritative voice left a distinctive mark on fifty years of Hollywood filmmaking, his career encompassed roles in numerous historical epics, period dramas, and Hollywood adventure films. At his best in the 1950's and 1960's, Heston continued to play leading roles through the 1990's and was also called upon to lend his voice or imposing stature to certain supporting roles no one quite as large ever really emerged to fill. Heston is best remembered for his heroic roles, such as Moses in "The Ten Commandments", Colonel George Taylor in "Planet of the Apes" and Judah Ben-Hur in "Ben-Hur", the role for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor. In the 1950's and 1960's he was one of a handful of Hollywood actors to speak openly against racism and was an active supporter of the Civil Rights Movement. Heston earned recognition for his appearance in his first professional movie, "Dark City", a 1950 film noir. His breakthrough came when Cecil B. DeMille cast him as a circus manager in "The Greatest Show on Earth", which was named by the Motion Picture Academy as the best picture of 1952. Heston became an icon for portraying Moses ...

Charlton Heston as First Player in Branagh's Hamlet (1996), Aeneas' Speech to Dido

en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark; Act 2, Scene 2: 426 'Anon he finds him Striking too short at Greeks; his antique sword, Rebellious to his arm, lies where it falls, Repugnant to command: unequal match'd, Pyrrhus at Priam drives; in rage strikes wide; But with the whiff and wind of his fell sword The unnerved father falls. Then senseless Ilium, Seeming to feel this blow, with flaming top Stoops to his base, and with a hideous crash Takes prisoner Pyrrhus' ear: for, lo! his sword, Which was declining on the milky head Of reverend Priam, seem'd i' the air to stick: So, as a painted tyrant, Pyrrhus stood, And like a neutral to his will and matter, Did nothing. But, as we often see, against some storm, A silence in the heavens, the rack stand still, The bold winds speechless and the orb below As hush as death, anon the dreadful thunder Doth rend the region, so, after Pyrrhus' pause, Aroused vengeance sets him new a-work; And never did the Cyclops' hammers fall On Mars's armour forged for proof eterne With less remorse than Pyrrhus' bleeding sword Now falls on Priam. Out, out, thou strumpet, Fortune! All you gods, In general synod 'take away her power; Break all the spokes and fellies from her wheel, And bowl the round nave down the hill of heaven, As low as to the fiends!' But who, O, who had seen the mobled queen 'Run barefoot up and down, threatening the flames With bisson rheum; a clout upon that head Where late the diadem stood ...

Charlton Level Crossing

Saturday November 19 at 8.10 am. Couldn't find this train in the timetable but its probably something like the 7.44 London to Slade Green (8.26) train. This is the only level crossing in the south-east quarter of London. There are 15 in south-west London. Its also the only one found so far with a vehicle width restriction. There is a tunnel to the right, Charlton station to the left and the football ground behind.

Afro Celt Sound System - LIve @ WOMAD, Charlton Park 25th July 2010

A night of magic as Afro Celt Sound System return to a WOMAD stage after a gap of some 10 years, and what a show. This clip just doesn't do justice to the atmosphere in the Siam Tent, this was without doubt the highlight of the weekend for me.
