Featured: Suede - The Drowners The Levellers - 15 Years More of a significant chart than it may first appear, this one. "The Drowners" was Suede's first proper single, and this was their first major terrestrial television appearance. The showing of this video was widely considered to be a turning point in the bands career, and generated a lot of new fans.

Features: Soup Dragons - Crotch Deep Trash Happy Mondays - Wrote For Luck The Soup Dragons, of course, were one of the earliest "bogus" indie bands, in the chart in the earliest days via a false label (Raw TV) whilst being financed entirely by Sire Records. Sadly, this trend would continue to gather pace, and by the early nineties all manner of psuedo-indies were set up purely to gain bands credibility and exposure on items like the Chart Show Indie Chart. The most ridiculous label was Island Red (who Salad were signed to). They were effectively Island records with the logo coloured red but being distributed by an indie company!
