THAT'S RIGHT, EVERYONE. I know how to play 笛子Dizi too ^^ As for 5/25/2010 (*黃嵩, 生日快樂!*): I've been playing dizi for over a year now. I look back at this video and realize how much I've improved since. At the time, I was borrowing a friend's flute. While my teacher was making arrangements for me to get my own flute, I was using my friend's flute to practice and train myself. The song that I chose for my FIRST bamboo flute video is called 青花瓷Qing Hua Ci [Blue/White Porcelain] by Jay Chou. My version is a little different from the original. The notes are different from how Jay sings it and it's also cuz I'm not so familiar with the song myself. I'm more familiar with the chorus than the verses xP The reason I decided to play BOTH flutes in this video is cuz of the key change towards the end. I don't have the type of 笛子that is suitable for that range. I only have it for the beginning part. As of 5/25/2010: To this day, I STILL only have 1 type of dizi. Hopefully, one day I'll purchase another dizi in a different key. Notes for Western flute: (psst, for Chinese bamboo flute, use the G-flute and just use the same fingerings for Western flute ^^) D Pentatonic-Major: (# fc) (Capitalized letters= higher octave) bafa afa afafe bafa afa aCbaa eabC CbC CbCEC Cbab babaCb bafa afa afafe eaCE ECE ECbaa abcbafa abCbafaaa Chorus: EECbCf bCECb EECbCe bCEba abCEFECECbab abababCEC EECbCf bCECb EECbcebCEba abCEFECEbab eCbba (repeat to beginning) Bridge KEY CHANGE-Western Flute ...
