Knights of Chivalry: A Tribute to Medieval Epic Movies
A tribute to over 70 years of the most traditional epic storytelling: medieval movie genre, stories of knights, kings, queens, and Arthurian legend. For my friend Claudia who had her shares of trials lately. Movies included were The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938) with Olivia de Havilland and Errol Flynn, (Ivanhoe (1952) with Elizabeth Taylor and Robert Taylor, Knights of the Round Table (1953) with Ava Gardner and Robert Taylor, El Cid (1961) with Sophia Loren and Charlton Heston, Excalibur (1981) with the relatively unknown Cherie Lunghi and Nigel Terry, Braveheart (1995) with Sophie Marceau and Mel Gibson, A Knights Tale (2001) with Shannyn Sossamon and the late Heath Ledger. In a way, a tribute to Heath since I normally do classic movies but I could not leave his film out since it really had the best jousting scenes. Liam Neeson is also in this video, see if you can find him. Robin Hood won 3 Oscars and Braveheart won 5 Oscars. Excalibur is a greatly underrated, beautiful film. In order, music by Basil Poledouris (I used for titles; Title Theme, from Flesh and Blood), Vangelis (In jousting/knighting; Across the Mountains, from Alexander), Nino Rota (I open with Sophia and end with kisses; Romeo and Juliet), Carl Orffs O Fortuna (in Arthur's wedding until battle) from Carmina Burana) and Siegfrieds Funeral March from (I used for ending with swords; Gotterdammerung by Richard Wagner). The last two pieces were used by Trevor Jones for the Excalibur soundtrack.

The two assassins are master swordsmen with no allegiance. They decide to help out a local merchant to seek out revenge against a kung fu master. The plot contains multiple twists of deception, and leaving characters wondering who to really trust. The story ultimately ends with a revelation as to who truly has honor. Most of the swordplay is very fast-paced. A truly kick ass masterpiece.
Aerial Chivalry -The Story of Charlie Brown and Franz Stigler
Charlie Brown was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot with the 379th Bomber Group at Kimbolton, England. His B-17 was called 'Ye Old Pub' and was in a terrible state, having been hit by flak and fighters. The compass was damaged and they were flying deeper over enemy territory instead of heading home to Kimbolton. After flying over an enemy airfield, a pilot named Franz Stigler was ordered to take off and shoot down the B-17. When he got near the B-17, he could not believe his eyes. In his words, he 'had never seen a plane in such a bad state'. The tail and rear section was severely damaged, and the tail gunner wounded. The top gunner was all over the top of the fuselage. The nose was smashed and there were holes everywhere. Despite having ammunition, Franz flew to the side of the B-17 and looked at Charlie Brown, the pilot. Brown was scared and struggling to control his damaged and blood-stained plane. Aware that they had no idea where they were going, Franz waved at Charlie to turn 180 degrees. Franz escorted and guided the stricken plane to and slightly over the North Sea towards England. He then saluted Charlie Brown and turned away, back to Europe. When Franz landed he told the CO that the plane had been shot down over the sea, and never told the truth to anybody. Charlie Brown and the remains of his crew told all at their briefing, but were ordered never to talk about it. More than 40 years later, Charlie Brown wanted to find the Luftwaffe pilot who saved the crew. After <b>...</b>
