This is my music video for Cilla Jane, an independent singer/songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. "Into the Woods" is a track from her new album called 'Until Morning Comes', which is available on iTunes. The animation was done 100% with Toonboom Animate Pro. It's entirely 2D, I've used Toonboom's morphing to achieve some of the 3D-ish effects, like the fox head and girl turnaround.

In this 6-part series you'll learn how to do basic rigging in ToonBoom Animate and Animate Pro, from cutting up a character into riggable segments, setting the joints (pivot points) and arranging them into a heirarchy. Then towards the end, how to use 'drawing substitution' to insert additional poses for rigged segments, such as hands and mouths. This series assumes you know basics of drawing & painting. Here's an upcoming project of mine in which I'm trying to do a daily short in ToonBoom Digital Pro. However it's taken me a few days so far because I have freelance assignments taking up most of the day, which leaves me only a couple of hours a night to do my own stuff. This is approx 50 mins work showing my process of cleaning up rough animation and adding lighting effects. No Audio.

Not so much a how-to as a demonstration of making a monkey's fist knot. I always wanted to know how to make one of these, so one day, I walked into a bookstore, found a book on knots, memorised the monkey's fist and walked out. I went home and couldn't stop making them.
