Chris Morris on Four Lions

The twisted genius behind The Day Today on his latest film. Chris Morris brilliant, controversy-baiting comedy Four Lions which follows the adventures of a group of hapless wannabe suicide bombers - opens this week, and we strongly recommend it, for its bold, brave and gut-bustingly funny. We sent Chris Hewitt along to the films UK premiere at the Bradford Film Festival recently, where he spoke to Morris, producer Mark Herbert, writers Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain, and most of the Four Lions themselves.

Chris Morris - Torque TV (Brass Eye pilot)

The original 1995 pilot that was rejected by the BBC. This makes up much of what would ultimately become the first episode of the series, 'Animals'. Provided by the folks at SOTCAA (www.youtube.com/user/sotcaadotnet), who are constantly unearthing gems like this. Here's an archived link to their transcript detailing the changes between this and the episode that eventually went out: web.archive.org Notable outtakes: 5:01 - Extra fox-hunting footage; Brazilian TV show; Attenborough's death machine; cow phones; euthanasia 9:44 - Cow on skis 12:08 - Anusless dog; extra Peregrine Worsthorne interview (possibly on the DVD as an outtake) 14:43 - Breast dog; more of Karla the Elephant (including Nigel Benn & Martin Amis) 18:30 - Edmonds isn't helping! 19:40 - "Signs of Hope" 22:21 - More of Dr. Jonathan Kwattes 26:12 - Karla the Elephant: Jeffrey Archer, Reggie Kray & Mona Bauwens 30:04 - Slaughterhouse muzak 31:45 - Reverend Edward Holland interview Silly Morris credits: wants to be friends with Martin Amis Patrick Marbur [sic] Stupidity Latch Brett Easton Ellis Parliamentary Contact Bernie Worrell Barking the word "Charlie" Jeffrey Archer

Jam (Chris Morris) - Episode One

From en.wikipedia.org Jam was a postmodern British dark comedy series created, written and directed by Chris Morris, and broadcast on Channel 4 during March and April 2000. It was based on the earlier BBC Radio 1 show, Blue Jam, and consisted of a series of unsettling sketches unfolding over an ambient soundtrack. Many of the sketches re-used the original radio soundtracks with the actors lip-synching their lines, an unusual technique which added to the programme's unsettling atmosphere. The cast, which comprised people who Morris had worked with on his earlier TV work such as The Day Today and Brass Eye, included Amelia Bullmore, David Cann, Julia Davis, Kevin Eldon and Mark Heap, as well as occasional appearances from Morris himself. It was written by Chris Morris and Peter Baynham, with additional material contributed by Jane Bussmann, David Quantick, Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews and the cast.

@cookdandbombd - www.cookdandbombd.co.uk - Chris Morris gives his opinion on Twitter, and turns down the mantle of "King Of All Media", given it already belongs to Howard Stern - who he is also a fan of. The interviewer is Benjamen Walker, who conducted what I consider the best interview Morris has given. An hour of excellent radio, and avilable here wfmu.org chilled.cream.org http twitter.com

CHRIS MORRIS - "WHY DON'T YOU COME HOME?" (Official Music Video HD)

CHRIS MORRIS "Why Don't You Come Home?" Written By: Stevie Wonder and Don Hunter Produced and Performed By: Chris Morris Music Video Directed By: Micah O'Hair Music Video Produced By: Chris Morris www.theartofchrismorris.com "Why Don't You Come Home?" is an undiscovered treasure written by none other than the legendary Stevie Wonder. It was originally recorded at the height of Motown's success in the late 1960's. Never to be found on any of his classic albums, Chris Morris was fortunate to stumble upon upon this hidden gem. In what is perfectly in line with his style of sophisticated soul, Chris decided to get in the studio and pay tribute to this unknown masterpiece. The Music Video is an ode to the classic performance style clips from that era. Chris and director Micah O'Hair filmed this clip in one-take with very minimal editing. So now, here is a tribute to Stevie and a unique showcase for Chris' instrumental and vocal abilities in this piece of instant vintage.

Chris Morris - Bishop Slips

A rehash of Princess Diana's funeral by comic genius Chris Morris . Here's the Wikipedia text about it. In a 'sketch' commencing approximately thirteen minutes into the sixth episode of the first series of Blue Jam, Morris re-edited the Archbishop of Canterbury's speech at Diana, Princess of Wales's funeral to make it appear that he was making inappropriate comments regarding AIDS and the British Royal Family. The broadcast of this episode was faded into the first episode in the middle of the edited speech, which was "broadcast almost in its entirety before being faded by a transmission engineer" [1]. It is unknown who ordered this, either a BBC employee receiving complaints (before the sketch had ended?), or Chris Morris himself as a stunt. The same episode was later rebroadcast as the first episode of the second series, with "Bishopslips" omitted. In "The Nation's Favourite," a book by Simon Garfield chronicling the transformation of Radio 1 under Matthew Bannister, one sequence describes a meeting in which the difficulties surrounding the management of Chris Morris were made clear. Morris had begun deliberately leaving the delivery of the show masters as late as possible - often so late that there was not sufficient time to play through the show before broadcast to check for libel or obscenity. As a result it is likely that compliance was enforced in real-time and a manager was on-hand to order the fading down of the Bishopslips sketch without any complaints being ...

In 2000, Chris Morris performed a guest DJ slot on the late-night radio show Breezeblock fronted by Mary-Ann Hobbs, which had often preceded broadcasts of "Blue Jam".
