LifeSupport: Change Through Art event and exhibition
The winners of charity YouthNet's LifeSupport: Change Through Art competition are announced at an exclusive exhibition event. Photography, film and illustration, submitted by young people to demonstrate how the recession has impacted them and their communities, was on display in a one-night-only exhibition at the Design Museum. Sponsored by the Citi Foundation and Egg the event was hosted by Chloe Madeley and prizes were awarded by Martyn Lewis, Charlie McDonnell (charlieissocoollike), Matthew Stone and Nigel Davies. Talented young film producer Chris Vickers (21) from Essex landed the coveted £1000 cash prize for his video entry, Times of Change while Andrea Bowie (23) from Swindon, Brigitte Sutherland (23) from Bristol and Connor Matheson (17) from Barnsley picked up £300 prizes. this was at the carpe diem cabaret organised by my wonderful girlfriend we had to change it last minute because we discovered we were doing a different arrangement from the one we'd rehearsed and we'd lost a person...and apart from me missing my queue i think we did rather well. left to right - the one under the top hat is me the sparkly dressed one is ellen and the one with the giant flower in her hair and white gloves is Katie The one playing the Tuba in this video is Rowan (also the one playing piano in my copy of I am what I am) The two trumpeters are a James Howel, and I think Chris Vickers, Unfortunatley i can't remember saxophonist...
