Say it with me folks: MILK & COOKIES !!! Because I know a lot of people hasn't seen this legendary Andy Kaufman's performace, and I just recently managed to get my little greedy paws on it, I decided to upload it on YouTube so everyone can enjoy it. The Carnegie Hall show took place at the beginning of April 1979. In the bio-pic Man on the Moon, this event was shown to be planned and performed after Kaufman was diagnosed with cancer, when in fact it took place almost 4 years before. In this first part, Tony Clifton opens the show singing Amarican National Anthem,"Carolina In The Morning" and reciting the poem "What is a wife".

Clifton Chenier virtually invented Zydeco in the 1940s and 50s by combining Cajun and Creole musical traditions with blues, rock, and New Orleans rhythm-and-blues. This was recorded live at the Berkeley Blues Festival in 1966 His son CJ Chenier is carrying on the family tradition and it would be wrong, not to throw in a plug for him here. They mostly play the fiddle and accordion and speak creol. The music is mixed up with the blues. This is a good example of mixture, which is the strenght of Clifton Cheniers' music, in French Creole language The "Master" is the Creol accordion-player Clifton Chenier. Hello to everyone! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Tis the second song I post on youtube. Maybelle Carter - Bury me under the weeping willow. It was recorded in Bristol, TN August 2nd 1927 - the first song the Carters ever recorded. This song comes from the 1963 Newport Folk Festival. She was introduced by Bill Clifton. - There are some CDs with Maybelle's recordings: "Wildwood Pickin'", "Sara and Maybelle" and of course all the Original Carter Family CDs - like "In the shadow of Clinch Mountain" (12 CD complete set - with hardcover book which includes all song lyrics! - Bear Family Records 2000).
