The Troy Rail was a bit of an adventure. I had to cut off the ring and omega spring assembly with a dremel tool due to the welded on flash hider. That wasn't too bad, kind of bead blasted part of the upper finish inadvertently with the powderized aluminum spray - scratched the receiver also when the dremel slipped as well... but it was the front handguard retainer that was the unexpected pain in the ass, it was practically welded on, it would not BUDGE ... ended up cutting it off with the dremel also! Heavy gun @ 9.5 pounds as you see it in this vid, but exactly what I set out to build - a short, accurate tactical carbine for use in real world WROL defense, like after a natural disaster - not a lightweight fantasy end of the world wander the wasteland post-apocalypse gun. I have a lighter AR-15 as well, in case I do have to wander the post-apocalyptic wasteland! LOL :) I <b>...</b>

The stainless steal CMMG 22 conversion is an alternative to shooting center fire 556 rounds. There has been some discussion concerning the reliability and harm that they may cause to an AR platform. Based on CMMG's own comments the stainless unit is far superior to the standard conversion. The durability and the ease of cleaning that the stainless provides are the key benefits. Make sure to fallow all instructions included with the kit, and if you have a problem do not hesitate to call CMMG they have a good reputation of warrantying there products. Shooting junk in the desert with the CMMG .22lr conversion for AR-15's with my Rock River Arms carbine. Been using this conversion for over a year with about 95% reliability. I have put close to 10000 rounds through the kit (i love shooting .22lr). There was a bit of a break in period when I first got the kit, but after about the first 500 rounds or so it now functions near flawless (says alot being a .22 and all..) I do not recommend using "hyper velocity" rounds as you will find that they go everywhere except what you are aiming at. Use standard or high velocity rounds only. I usually shoot what you'll see in the video, cheap, cheap, cheap federal bulk ammunition and it runs great. I'll usually top off an hour of shooting the .22's by putting the original AR bolt back in place and blasting the gunk out with some .223 remington. If you cannot do that then I recommend REMOVING the .22lr conversion after shooting, as it is possible to experience some issues removing it later.

Here's some mag dumps to test the reliability of a new CMMG .22 long rifle ( .22lr ) upper that I just got. To test accuracy, I put a cookie next to the target and was able to repeatedly hit it until it flipped up in the air and behind the target in hilarious fashion. Equipment shown is a Colt pre-ban lower with a Magpul CTR stock, Eotech 553.A65TAN, Magpul rail covers, Magpul AFG, Magpul MBUS sights.

JCTheSniper, shooting my Del-Ton AR-15, running a CMMG .22 ARC (AR Conversion). It's a sweet little conversion kit. Drops in in ten seconds or less, and shoots flawlessly, with various types of ammo. This shooting session marks the end of 1000 rounds through the kit, and so far, no failures of any kind. I still haven't sighted the rifle in for .22, since I'm still shooting .223 with it as well, but the accuracy is good, even at 75 yards, squatting in the snow.

The CMMG 22 conversion for my AR has run solid since my initial purchase. It does like Federal bulk pack and CCI mini mag's. It does not like the Remington Gold ammo that I shot in the previous video. I can not tell you why other than the Rem. primers seemed to not want to fire. Thanks for watching.

My wife, Brandi shooting the AR-15 with the CMMG 22lr conversion kit in it. Once she got comfortable I literally had to wrestle it away from her. She loved that thing! You can see hot smooth firing it is and ejection of spent casings are pretty uniform, making for easy cleanup. That is if you even clean up :) BTW, before you start griping about how low Brandi's head is on the stock and how low the stock is on her shoulder, remember she's left eye dominant, but shooting right handed. She's got her head low so she can get a clear view of the red dot with her left eye.

A quick and easy overview of my CMMG M4LE 5.56x45 NATO. I go over some basic designs of the CMMG M4LE. I also forgot to mention it has a chrome lined barrel, and although M4 is a trademarked name and civilian AR's cannot be called an "M4" per say, CMMG has designed this weapon with the moniker "M4-LE", with the "LE" standing for Law Enforcement to designate a short semi-automatic carbine version of the AR-15. It is chambered for both 5.56x45 NATO but fires both 5.56MM and .223, as listed on the receiver and the barrel. From the CMMG website about 5.56MM vs .223: "Do your 5.56 NATO chambers support firing .223 Rem also? Any AR-15 chambered for 5.56 will shoot .223. Firearms chambered for .223 should not be fired with the higher pressure 5.56 NATO cartridge."
