Collision is a documentary film. released on October 27, 2009 featuring a debate between prominent atheist Christopher Hitchens and Douglas Wilson, Presbyterian pastor of Christ Church Moscow. Described by Hitchens as a "buddy-and-road" movie, it provides an overview of several days worth of debates following the release of their book Is Christianity Good for the World? The book was generated by correspondence published in Christianity Today. The partnership between Hitchens and Wilson began in 2007, when Hitchens invited anyone to debate his viewpoints following the release of his book God is not Great. Wilson's agent heard the offer and put him in touch with Wilson, leading to a series of written debates published in Christianity Today, which eventually were compiled into Is Christianity Good for the World? Filmmaker Darren Doane heard about the exchanges between the two and sought them out to make a film. The film was featured on CNN, Fox News; NPR ; the Laura Ingram show and others. After the men finally met in person while shooting the film, both got along well, despite the heated exchanges, in part from a shared appreciation for PG Wodehouse.

My day took an unexpected turn when a driver pulled out in front of me at a traffic light shortly after a "race". All 3 vehicles involved were totaled. Fortunately, thank God, nobody was killed. The only people that were seriously hurt were in the Mustang. They were taken away in an ambulance, but later recovered. Because of this accident, I ended up being sentenced to 120 days in jail, two years of probation, and 100 hours of community service. The driver of the Mustang was sentenced to six months of prison among other things. I do not recommend illegal street racing to anyone. It is highly dangerous. My life has been affected by this since it happened, which has been almost three years now. You could be the best driver in the world, but you never know what the other person is going to do.

From Spitzer Space Telescope's acclaimed Hidden Universe series, NASA/JPL/Caltech. Nearly 60 years ago, audiences thrilled to the destruction of the Earth in George Pal's classic film, "When Worlds Collide." The idea of a planetary smash-up is a staple of science fiction, but can it really happen? Astronomers using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope think they've actually seen the aftermath of such a collision around another star. The story unfolded as Dr. Casey Lisse and his team studied disks around young stars. Once planets have formed astronomers think there are a lot of left-over asteroids in the system. They occasionally slam together and produce dusty debris. Spitzer's Infrared Spectrograph was designed to detect the faint glow from this material. By spreading the light out into its component colors, astronomers can look for the spectral fingerprints of different minerals. Our dusty star of interest is a faint speck known as HD 172555. It's about 100 light years away and 12 million years old which, compared to our 4.5 billion year old Sun, is like a baby born a few days ago. Studying its spectrum, Dr. Lisse and his colleagues realized they had found something very peculiar that they had not seen around other stars. Aside from the usual indicators of rocky rubble, they found features corresponding to tektite, obsidian, and silicon monoxide gas.
