This is my tribute/homemade trailer for Bernardo Bertolucci's masterpiece, THE CONFORMIST. This is dedicated to Cecilia, Tony and my first film teacher (Prof. Kashani), who first told me Plato's allegory of the cave as a metaphor for cinema. I hope this serves as a remembrance to lovers of this film as to why it's a masterpiece, and also influence people to watch it for the very first time. MUSIC: "Clock Tick" -- Abel Korzeniowski "Siboney" -- Connie Francis "Death is the Road to Awe" -- Clint Mansell A few notes: 1. If you have not seen this movie and are planning to, for the love of God, watch it in Italian dubs as it was meant to be seen. I had to use English dubs because my editing program's subtitles are tricky and I don't understand Italian in any case. 2. I wanted to preserve Vittorio Storaro's beautiful framing as best as I could, but again my editing program squeezed the image when it imported. The actual aspect ratio is a bit wider than what's seen in this video. 3. The volume for this video is a bit off at time, just bear with me. 4.
