
It's official: the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, S. 1867, passed the Senate December first. The Upper Chamber passed the bill with 93 ayes and 7 nays, the whole Senate voted and needed 50% approval: Three Republicans voted against it, Rand Paul, Tom Corburn, and Mike Lee, three Democrats Voted against the bill too, Thomas Harkin, Jeff Merkley, and Ron Wyden. Forty-Four Republicans voted for the bill, and 48 Democrats also voted in favor of doing away with The Posse Comitatus Act of 1807. A similar Bill has already passed in the House earlier this year; the Senate and House versions now need to be combined to form a new Bill before President Obama is able to sign it into law, or I guess he could veto. This Bill also calls for America to be considered the "Battle field" thus giving the military authority. The entire United States has now become part of the military field of operations. That's not a good thing.
