A: Composing melodies that are simple, melodic and interpretive in a style like instrumental music requires a lyrical touch. To achieve this, you'll need notes that can linger and also suuround chord tones to really connect with the underlying harmony. Another important area happens to be the often over-looked area of rhythm. Strong and simple melodies tend to focus quite heavily upon recurring rhythmic threads in the music. 16th piece, 1st contest. Hooray, thanks for votin' for meh! This rendition recieved first place in the first Mario Paint Composing contest! At first, I was psyched about this contest, but shortly after starting the piece, I lost interest. It was after watching Adolfobaez's remix of this that I regained my will to create the piece. Its a bit late, but given the extended deadline, I think its alright. So, my soundcard is fried (I'm usually mariopainting using a USB headset, so I generally only use the card to record). His name is Godot, and he's one cool cat with one weird mask. He's probably my favorite prosecutor in the series, with probably my favorite theme song in the series. The actual name of this song is "The Fragrance of Dark Coffee" but I couldn't fit that into the title. This song uses the soundfont developed for the Mario Paint Composing Contest, which coincidentally fit very well with this song. There was a small issue with the high C being sharp that SatoshiLyish was glad to help me with, and I thank him greatly for his assistance.
