Living With Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia or CAH
This is hopefully the beginning of videos about my life with CAH. Hopefully this video can be used to stir awareness about this often overlooked illness. This is open for questions and discussion and I want to help parents and CAH patients alike understand their illness or the illness of the child, while bringing light to the subject and hope for the future.

Our journey through Congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV).
Starting from pregnancy, through to 15 months, this is about our son Kaiden. Born at 34 weeks by emergency c-section due to Congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV). Born July 4 2007 at 4:21pm he weighed only 3lb 14oz (1.76kg), 42cm long and HC was 30cm. He had 2 bleeds within his brain which caused calcifications and he also had jaundice, low birth weight, extremely low platelets and an enlarged liver and spleen. He was never expected to live. Kaiden continuously proved everyone wrong at every step of the way, they said he couldnt do it- so he did. When they said he was too weak to do something, he did it and better than we had ever imagined! Kaiden is Celtic for WARRIOR and we chose it when i was only a few weeks pregnant, we had no idea how suitable that name would turn out to be... We have been extremely lucky in that not only did he survive, but the effects of the virus have been minimal compared to the majority of CMV babies. The only permanent ill effects from the virus have been to his hearing. He has a moderate/severe loss to his left ear and profound to the right. He wears little blue hearing aids and with them he can hear as low as a whisper. As of 15 months of age (October 4 2008) Kaiden can say 2 words, Mum and Bub. He continues to amaze us every day and i couldnt imagine my life without him. This devastating virus has hurt so many children and yet its barely known. Funebre - Congenital Defeat
Funebre ( formed in 1988 ) was one of the very first Finnish Death Metal bands, together with local bands, Xysma and Disgrace in Turku city of Finland. Short lived band recorded their first demo "Cranial Torment" in 1989. Next year they got signed to the american Whisper in Darkness records, that released band's two demo songs on "Brainspoon" EP (1990). At the same year they also recorded their second self-produced self-titled demo. 1991 they released their first and last full-length "Children of the Scorn" through Finnish Spinefarm records. Congenital nevi are benign skin tumors composed of melanocyte-derived nevus cells, present at birth, or appearing by age 2. They are considered to be a type of birthmark, of which there are many variants. Roughly 1% of newborns have at least one melanocytic nevus. They may increase in size and become more heavily pigmented during puberty. Congenital melanocytic nevi are usually dark brown and raised, with an irregular verrucous surface. Most have increased course terminal hairs. Congenital melanocytic nevi vary greatly in size. Depending on their location, large lesions may be disfiguring. The largest lesions are referred to as giant hairy nevi. Giant congenital nevi on the trunk are referred to as bathing trunk nevi. Congenital nevi are usually compound nevi with nested nevus cells at the junction and also in the dermis. Nevus cells may extend into fat and invest adnexal structures and blood vessels. The vast majority of congenital melanocytic nevi are benign and follow a life-long course of maturation. Nevi which deviate from this pattern are suspicious and biopsy is warranted. The risk of malignant degeneration occurring in congenital melanocytic nevi is controversial.
