Connetquot and New York State DEC Issues
SAVE THE CONNETQUOT TROUT HATCHERY! The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has made a decision to close the hatchery. This catastrophic decision was made without consulting the Friends of Connetquot. We believe the decision was made without complete knowledge of the facts and without considering all of the serious ramifications.

Long Island Piney Power show HD: Connetquot River State Park
This is one of Long Island's largest parks, which has been largely undisturbed for many years. Before this was a state park it was known as the South Side Sportsmans Club. There's many gigantic Pitch Pines here, as I start off on the Long Island Greenbelt trail on the north side of the park and work my way south toward the hatchery. Later the next day I show the east side and the scenic Cordwood road with many great shapes, and trails off the beaten path in and around Bohemia County Park. This is definately one of the longest videos I've ever put together, but there was just so much beauty to show here.

Long Island Piney Power show: Autumn along the Connetquot
Another nice day meant another hike! This time I check out the beauty along the Connetquot River, starting in Lakeland County Park and then heading south through Connetquot River State Park, where there's loads of fall foliage from the oaks as well as some swamp maples. And of course plenty of amazing Great Shapes! I conclude the video just outside the hatchery, where I wasn't the only photographer. The other guys had big expensive DSLR's and tripods, but I think my Canon Powershot did just as good!

CHS's womens choir (treble choir) singing "share the joy" for the anniversary for Lord and Taylor, it was a lot of fun. and we used music considering we only had a couple weeks to learn this song, (by the way, this song was written for especially this event and was being sang by other treble choirs around America the same day.) ... yes, i am in this choir, i'm in the second row but you cannot see me that well. John Barry junior year playoff game tape vs Connetquot 11-6-10
This is the first half of our playoff win against Connetquot, plus our first two offensive plays of the second half. I got injured on the last play on the tape. Some notes: on the 2nd play on the tape, we had called a play that doesn't exist. The whole line blocked right and the running back went to sweep left. There he was met by seven Connetquot tacklers. Then on the 6th play on the tape, I whiff on a block against Mike Pellegrino (Connetquot #34), who was the Hansen Award winner for top player in Suffolk County. He's elusive, but I wish I had that block back. Other than that, I had a pretty good game, and Northport won, sending us to the County semifinals for the first time since 1991. Also, the tape was done from our opponent's home stands, so the crowd is pretty riled up against us. It's fun to hear them rooting against us knowing we're going to win the game.
