Add everything else and stir well. 4. Pour mixture into the prepared pan (leave a little to lick the bowl-it's YUMMY!) 5. Bake 1 hour, until a cake tester comes out clean. *Can slice it and toast it for breakfast, too! Alkaline is the English synonym for basic, since Bronsted Lowry acid - base theory of 1923 the term alkali in chemistry was restricted to those salts containing alkali earth metal elements especially for soluble bases.
