Of course, as the rest of Greece, it has a long, often bloody and very rich history that is clearly visible all over the island. Ioannis Kapodistrias International Airport is a typical holiday airport. Off season it's quiet with just a few flights every day while in the holiday season (and certainly on Monday and Friday) the airport is running at full capacity. The runway is built in a small bay and the approach from the south is spectacular as some of the best known landmarks are only a few hundred meters away. Though weather conditions are seldom a problem, wind can be an issue as it flows around and over the mountains that are close to the airport. In high summer turbulence can be severe close to the ground. As the runway has no ILS, all approaches are visual and certain the VOR DME NDB approach to runway 35 is not easy. Adagio for Stars is the combination of the classical music and the Universe around us, is a 24-hour trip around Corfu, from Sunrise to Sunset and from Moonrise to Sunrise. Most of the frames were shot with Canon eos 40D and ef 15mm fisheye but we also used 4 other DSLR cameras Canon eos 5D mkii, Canon eos 40D, Canon eos 30D, Canon eos 400D, Canon eos 350D with lens from 12mm to 400mm, also some of shots are from ED80 telescope with 600mm. There are more than 50.000 pictures in this video, some of which were taken from 14 to 21 August 2011 with fellow photographer...all other shots were taken by the Observation Team of the Astronomical Society of Corfu -which I happen to lead- some in 2008 and 2009 and many of them in 2010 and <b>...</b>

Mirtiotissa beach has been known as Corfu's nudist paradise (although not so secret anymore) and one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. It is also known as "the only beach in the Corfu where nudism is officially tolerated". Located around 13 km west of Kerkyra town, just next to the cosmopolitan beach of Glyfada, Myrtiotissa defenitely has something "special" about it. Anyone who visits this place gets hooked and will...always come back. The natural beauty of the place, the isolated environment along with nudism, create an exotic and relaxed atmosphere. Myrtiotissa, the cleanest of all beaches in Corfu and one of the prettiest in Greece, remains unspoiled by modern civilization. Its morphology is the main reason why this place has been undeveloped over the years. Breathtaking cliffs, wild vegetation, rocks planted everywhere make no room for tourist progress in the area of Mirtiotisa.

On Thursday 17 May'12 I cycled from Ano Korakiana, a village on Corfu, to the top of Mount Pantocrator. I started at 9am and travelled via Sokrakim Zygos, Sgourades and Strinilas. I am 70 so I can be forgiven for a journey lasting three and half hours.I descended via the gravel track from near the summit via Palia Sinies - a deserted village - to Vinglatoura from where I cycled via the corniche back to Pyrgi, and via Ag.Markos back home where I arrived by 6pm.
