This 69 Camaro recently has been transplanted with a 1999 Corvette Computer Controlled Fuel Injected LS1 engine and a four speed overdrive automatic 4L60E transmission. This is the best running 69 Camaro Ive owned and I've had more than 6 in my life. The car behaves like a modern car... starts on first turn in cold weather, has great gas mileage, more power through the entire rev cycle, never overheats, no changes in performance due to altitude. I read once,"it is like having a mechanic under the hood constantly tuning your car for the current conditions". Of course most of you already have modern cars controlled by computers and take these conveniences for granted as did I until I bought my first classic car. Since I started riving in the 70's, it all started coming back to me when I drove my first 60's car in 30 years. I like this setup so much that I recreated it in my favorite 69 Camaro Convertible. This is the reason I'm selling the car. It gets over 20mpg and can go 0-60 as fast as a Vette. The LS1 transplant alone was over $17000 including all the changes. Circuit: Tokyo Circuit Car: Chevrolet Corvette C6.R GT1 Hard Al, Elite Driving, No aids, no mods. Logitech Wheel G27. This is kind of tricky first but you kinda adapt quick. Since it the same Tokyo Westbound track but only reversed, you already know how it goes. The only problem is the gate where you really have to decelerate to successfully turn. The AIs always crash in that portion so it make an interesting race, I could even catch up with the laters. Captured with FRAPS. 1998 C5 Corvette with a 6 Speed Manual This is my first attempt at a 0-60 video. Really conservative launch still learning the car so yes I have no skill with it as of right now but I like making 0-60 videos =P Mods are B&B shorty Headers, B&B mufflers and vararam intake. Dyno'ed at 331 horsepower and 334 horsepower at the wheels. With a 15% loss through the drivetrain that equals to 380 horsepower and 384 ft pounds of torque. I think Manuals are a 15% loss and automatics are a 20% loss so I'll use a 15% loss so I dont overrate my car. Stock rating is 345 horsepower and 350 torque I dont plan on modding the car much. All I want is some Borla stingers and maybe a tune. Thats it. *this was done on a closed track/and or computer generated dont do this on public roads its illegal =)*
