"Swinging Easy: Gennaro Kravitz" is a mini-biography about the history, style and singing career of a crooner you probably never heard of before. Finally dreaming to emerge from the shadows of obscurity, swooner Gennaro Kravitz -- a native Brooklynite whose career and passion as a swing jazz singer and entertainer span more than 4 decades -- has been waiting his whole life to show the world what it's like to follow his bliss from as far back as he can remember. The documentary film is what Kravitz hopes will show anyone who will give a listen that his middle-aged self very much still has what it takes to be a class act. Kravitz's style can be described as a tenor with the tradition of Bel Canto aria techniques combined with Jazz Swing. And yes, he also has a knack for singing arias, BTW. A consummate showman with a prolific career nobody's heard of, Kravitz has played at plenty of well known venues in New York (Webster Hall, Village Corner etc.) and has played for plenty of well known people (Saloon Singer Jimmy Roselli and Former NYC Mayor Abe Beame). His act has delighted a fringe crowd through his tour de force of "swooning", original spoken word, humorous monologues and prize giveaways...all the trappings expected in variety shows of the 50's and 60's. A nice Italian-American boy from Brooklyn who adopted a strange stage moniker, Kravitz is out to show the world his state-of-being and personae are not an act nor an homage to Bing, Frank or Sammy.
