Peter Paul and Mary, There Is A Ship Lyrics: There is a ship and she sails the sea She's loaded deep, as deep can be But not as deep as the love I'm in I know not if I sink or swim I leaned my back against an oak Thinking it was a trusty tree But first it bent and then it broke Just as my love proved false to me Oh, love is gentle, and love is kind The sweetest flower when first it's new But love grows old and waxes cold And fades away like the mornin' dew The water is wide, I cannot get o'er Neither have I the wings to fly Give me a boat that can carry two And both shall row my love and I

Surrealism - Visual Festival: Reality in a Blender 2

A collection of surrealism by various artists. On Surrealism from cschoon1213. We live day to day with reality, but often we wish for new and better realities different from our own. Surrealistic art can give you unusual and fascinating realities by taking our own and playing around with it, by mixing it, shaking it, and shuffling it around. Surrealism can take the familiar and make it new and exciting. So surrealism is what I like to call putting "reality into a blender" and seeing what you come up with. ~~~ Chuck Schoon

The Monkees: Pleasant Valley Sunday, 1967 Lyrics: The local rock group down the street Is trying hard to learn their song Serenade the weekend squire, who just came out to mow his lawn Another Pleasant Valley Sunday Charcoal burning everywhere Rows of houses that are all the same And no one seems to care See Mrs. Gray she's proud today because her roses are in bloom Mr. Green he's so serene, He's got a tv in every room Another Pleasant Valley Sunday Here in status symbol land Mothers complain about how hard life is And the kids just don't understand Creature comfort goals They only numb my soul and make it hard for me to see My thoughts all seem to stray, to places far away I need a change of scenery Ta Ta Ta... A Journey into the Mind's Eye: A Surrealistic Fantasy

A slideshow of a large number of surreal artist's works with a variety of styles set to music. The song is "Space is Deep" by the group Hawkwind from the CD Doremi Fasol Latido released in 1972. Space is dark, it is so endless, when you're lost it's so relentless. It is so big, it is so small, why does man try to act so tall? Is this the reason deep in our minds? It does not feel, it does not die, space is neither truth nor lie. Into the void we have to travel, to find the clue which will unravel. Is this the reason deep in our minds? The secret lies with our tomorrow, in each of us is a hidden sorrow. The path goes onward through the night beyond the realms of ancient light. Is this the reason deep in our minds?

Surrealistic - Fantasy 3D Art by Chuck Schoon

Some surrealistic and fantasy 3D images I did. I am relatively a beginner at 3D art but I hope you will find my images to be entertaining and provocative. My favorite genre is surrealism and fantasy and all of these pictures are of that nature except for one or two that I can think of. Surrealistic art is my passion and I will quote Salvador Dali when he was commenting on the surrealistic writings of Comte de Lautreamont to reflect my own attitudes towards surrealism: "This excites me to delirium!". I welcome your comments and suggestions. Thanks! Enjoy! ~~~ Chuck Schoon

Peter Paul and Mary, Hurry Down Sundown

Peter Paul and Mary, Hurry Down Sundown Lyrics: My seed is sown now, my field is plowed; My flesh is bone now, my back is bowed. Refrain: So hurry, sundown, be on your way, And hurry me a sun-up from this beat-up sundown day. Hurry down, sundown, be on your way; Weave me tomorrow out of today. Tomorrow's breeze now, blows clear and loud; I'm off my knees now, I'm standing proud. (Refrain) My sorrow's song, now, just must break through, That brave new dawn, now, long overdue. (Refrain) Hurry down, sundown, get thee be gone, Get lost in the sunrise, of a new dawn. Hurry down, sundown, take the old day, Wrap it in new dreams, send it my way! Send it my way! Send it my way!

Peter Paul and Mary, The First Time Lyrics: The first time ever I saw your face I thought the sun rose in your eyes And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave To the dark and the empty skies my love To the dark and the empty skies. The first time ever I kissed your mouth I felt the earth move in my hand Like the trembling heart of a captive bird That was there at my command my love That was there at my command. Lord I'm one, Lord I'm two, Lord I'm three, Lord I'm four, Lord I'm 500 miles from my home. 500 miles, 500 miles, 500 miles, 500 miles Lord I'm five hundred miles from my home. Peter Paul and Mary, For Loving Me Lyrics: That's what you get for lovin' me That's what you get for lovin' me Everything you had is gone, as you can see That's what you get for lovin' me. I ain't the kind to hang around With any new love that I've found Movin' is my stock in trade I'm movin on I won't think of you when I'm gone. So don't you shed a tear for me I ain't the love you thought I'd be I've got a hundred more like you so don't be blue I'll have a thousand 'fore I'm through. Now there you go you're crying again Now there you go you're crying again But then someday when your poor heart is on the mend I just might pass this way again That's what you get for lovin' me That's what you get for lovin' me Everything you had is gone, as you can see That's what you get for lovin' me.

Peter Paul and Mary, Early in the Morning

Peter Paul and Mary, Early in the Morning Lyrics: Well early in the morning, about the break of day, I ask the Lord, "Help me find the way!" Help me find the way to the promised land This lonely body needs a helping hand I ask the Lord to help me please find the way. When the new day's a dawning, I bow my head in prayer. I pray to the Lord, "Won't you lead me there?" Won't you guide me safely to the Golden Stair? Won't you let this body your burden share? I pray to the Lord, "Won't you lead me please, lead me there?" When the judgment comes to find the world in shame When the trumpet blows won't you call my name? When the thunder rolls and the heavens rain When the sun turns black, never shine again When the trumpet blows, won't you call me please, call my name!

Day is done, Day is done Day is done, Day is done Do you ask why I'm sighing, my son? You shall inherit what mankind has done. In a world filled with sorrow and woe If you ask me why this is so, I really don't know. (Refrain) Tell me why you're smiling my son Is there a secret you can tell everyone? Do you know more than men that are wise? Can you see what we all must disguise through your loving eyes? (Refrain)

Peter Paul and Mary, For Baby

Peter Paul and Mary, For Baby Song lyrics: I'll walk in the rain by your side, I'll cling to the warmth of your tiny hand. I'll do anything to help you understand, I'll love you more than anybody can. And the wind will whisper your name to me, Little birds will sing along in time, The leaves will bow down when you walk by, And morning bells will chime. I'll be there when you're feeling down, To kiss away the tears if you cry. I'll share with you all the happiness I've found, A reflection of the love in your eyes. And I'll sing you the songs of the rainbow, Whisper all the joy that is mine. The leaves will bow down when you walk by, And morning bells will chime. {repeat verse 1} The leaves will bow down when you walk by, And morning bells will chime.

Peter Paul and Mary, Too Much of Nothing

Peter Paul and Mary, Too Much of Nothing Lyrics: Too much of nothin' can make a man feel ill at ease One man's temper might rise, while the other man's temper might freeze. In the days of long confessions, we can not mock a soul When there's too much of nothin', no one has control. (Chorus) Say hello to Valerie, say hello to Marion, Send them all my salary, on the waters of oblivion. Too much of nothin' can make a man abuse a king He can walk the streets and boast like most but he don't know a thing. It's all been done before, it's all been written in the book. But when it's too much of nothin', nobody should look. (Chorus) Too much of nothin' can turn a man into a liar It can cause some man to sleep on nails, another man to eat fire. Everybody's doin' somethin', I heard it in a dream But when it's too much of nothin', it just makes a fella mean. (Chorus)

Peter Paul and Mary, Blowing in the Wind

Peter Paul and Mary, Blowing in the Wind Lyrics: How many roads must a man walk down Before they call him a man? How many seas must a white dove sail Before she sleeps in the sand? How many times must the cannon balls fly Before they're forever banned? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many years must a mountain exist Before it is washed to the sea? How many years can some people exist Before they're allowed to be free? How many times can a man turn his head And pretend that he just doesn't see? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind. How many times must a man look up Before he can see the sky? How many ears must one man have Before he can hear people cry? How many deaths will it take till he knows That too many people have died? The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind The answer is blowin' in the wind. The answer is blowin' in the wind.

Peter Paul and Mary, Very Last Day

Peter Paul and Mary, Very Last Day Lyrics: Chorus: Everybody gonna pray on the very last day Oh when they hear that bell a-ring the world away Everybody gonna pray to the heavens on the judgement day. Well you can sing about the great king David And you can preach about the wisdom of Saul But the judgement falls on all mankind When the trumpet sounds the call. All equal and the same When the Lord He calls your name Get ready, brother, for that day. (Chorus) Well one day soon all men will stand His word will be heeded in all the land Men shall know and men shall see, We all are brothers and we all are free Mankind was made of clay Each of us in the very same way Get ready, brother, for that day (Chorus) Oh well the law is given and the law is known, A tale is told and the seed is sown, From dust we came into dust we'll go, You the know the Lord once told us so. Each brother takes His hand, Heed the meaning of the Lord's command Get ready, brother, for that day. (Chorus)

Peter Paul and Mary: Paul Stookey, The Wedding Song

Peter Paul and Mary: Paul Stookey, The Wedding Song Lyrics: He is now to be among you at the calling of your hearts Rest assured this troubador is acting on His part. The union of your spirits, here, has caused Him to remain For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name There is Love. There is Love. Well a man shall leave his mother and a woman leave her home And they shall travel on to where the two shall be as one. As it was in the beginning is now and until the end Woman draws her life from man and gives it back again. And there is Love. There is Love. Well then what's to be the reason for becoming man and wife? Is it Love that brings you here or Love that brings you life? Or if loving is the answer, then who's the giving for? Do you believe in something that you've never seen before? Oh there's Love, there is Love. Oh the marriage of your spirits here has caused Him to remain For whenever two or more of you are gathered in His name There is Love. Oh there's Love.

Peter Paul and Mary, I Dig Rock and Roll Music

Peter Paul and Mary, I Dig Rock and Roll Music Lyrics: I dig Rock and Roll music And I love to get the chance to play. (and sing it) I figure it's about the happiest sound goin' down today. The message may not move me, Or mean a great deal to me, But hey! it feels so groovy to say: I dig the Mamas and the Papas at "The Trip," Sunset Strip in LA And they got a good thing goin' When the words don't get in the way. And when they're really wailing, Michelle and Cass are sailin'. Hey! they really nail me to the wall. I dig Donovan in a dream-like, tripped out way His crystal images tell you 'bout a brighter day And when the Beatles tell you They've got a word "love" to sell you They mean exactly what they say I dig Rock and Roll music I could really get it on in that scene. I think I could say somethin' if you know what I mean But if I really say it, the radio won't play it Unless I lay it between the lines!
