Robin & Batgirl themed shoes for a repeat customer, Sheila. This design was more difficult than I anticipated but I am very happy with the overall design and outcome of it, as is she. I used Marvy fabric markers, a little bit of Sharpie for black, heat-setted the ink to be thorough and then sprayed it with Scotch Guard to further help protect it from moisture. The shoes are "City Sneaks" from Payless. I threw a little design on the box, which is something I am experimenting with. Nothing too fancy, just a little something extra. I'll be doing more of that in the future with more intricate designing on it.

These are for Angie in Georgia! They are based off of one of her favorite anime characters, Haji, from Blood+. She'll be wearing these at an anime convention in September of 2011. :) I was not familiar with the series but with a little research I found Haji's very cool cello case. Originally she wanted to have 6 of her favorite anime characters together, but we decided it would be too cluttered. So rather than focus on all of them, we narrowed it down to an aspect of one of her top 2. These will be great conversation starters at the convention and fans of the series will instantly recognize Haji's cello case symbol, the pink rose on the back and the quotes on the sides. The idea was to have the shoes be recognizable to fans but also a conversation starter for those curious. I used Marvy fabric markers, experimented with a little Crayola brand fabric marker and also used Micron pens for thin detailing. Afterward I let it dry for over 24 hours, heat set it and then sprayed it with a moisture sealant.

These are the first custom shoes for BLEED IN COLOR. What I used: Wite Out Fabric Paint Acrylic Paint Clear Nail Polish Sharpie Marker Gel Pen (I do not recommend) Clear Varnish Spray Turned my old worn out Chuck Taylors Converse shoes into something sweet. I used both varnish spray and nail polish to coat the shoes because since I used gel pen in addition to the Sharpie marker, it kept smudging so in the end varnish spray was used to finish off the kicks. I apologize for the quality of the last segment and the horrid lighting. These are the second pair of custom shoes by bleedIN color. Like the first pair they have been prepped with Acetone before painted. The design was based on the type of shoe that i used, because the swoosh on the nikes were of a fuzzy fabric the idea to create a design to incorporate that was a bit difficult. ideas were tossed until oscar the grouch was mentioned.
