Here we review the software of the Dell Venue, which is running Android 2.2. It has the Dell stage UI, meaning that there are multiple widgets that take up entire homescreens. There's a music, home, gallery, email, twitter, and facebook widget. Also in terms of software there is an updated on screen keyboard that feels quite nice when entering text. Running the Quadrant benchmark shows that the Venue isn't the fastest Android phone, but in day to day use, it keeps up

PhoneArena reviews the Dell Venue. More than a year ago, an Android powered Dell smartphone going by the codename of "Thunder" rocketed onto the scene showcasing the kind of engineering marvel that's being concocted over in Dell's camp. Fast forward to early this year in February, the Dell Venue finally became a reality by bringing all the wonderful things we saw with its Windows Phone 7 counterpart in the Dell Venue Pro -- sans the keyboard though... PhoneArena reviews the Dell Venue Pro. The Dell Venue Pro presents itself as possibly being the very first true titan in the Windows Phone 7 space as it packs a massive display and a portrait style slide out keyboard. Boasting a refreshing design that undoubtedly differentiates itself from the current pack, this might very well be the device you'll probably want to check out if you want to get your feet wet with the still new platform... The Dell Venue Pro is the only Windows Phone 7 handset to sport a portrait (vertical) sliding QWERTY keyboard. Not only that, but the Venue Pro feels like a solid WP7 smartphone. The keyboard has yet to prove itself in usability tests, but the phone itself looks and feels like a winner.

The Dell Venue, like the Venue Pro, has exceptionally high build quality. But it's also a bit heavy compared to other phones. It has a mix of glass and different textures of plastic. The screen has a nice curvature to it which gives the display a high degree of sensitivity. Inside it's packing a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The huge 4.1" AMOLED display is not as crisp as the Galaxy S devices, but much nicer than a typical LCD, as found on the HTC EVO or HD2.

Dell Venue Pro Unboxing by Aaron Dell Venue Pro Review: Aaron's First Impressions www.phonedog.com Aaron does an unboxing review of the Dell Venue Pro, Dell's first Windows Phone 7 device and the last phone to launch from the first batch of devices. It's a T-Mobile device and offers a 1 GHz processor, 4.1-inch AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, and a physical QWERTY keyboard. The 4.1-inch AMOLED display is a perfect size, and it's incredibly vibrant without being too washed out (Focus). It joins the LG Quantum in offering a physical QWERTY keyboard, and it's very tactile. Given the flop that was the Dell Aero, the Venue Pro is constructed very well; while it's far too early to tell, this could be the best Windows Phone 7 device yet. Dell Venue Pro Review Part 1 by Aaron Aaron does a video review of the Dell Venue Pro, Dell's first Windows Phone 7 device and one of two to offer a physical QWERTY keyboard. It has the usual specs - 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and a 5-megapixel camera - but it has a great 4.1-inch AMOLED display that's curved on the edges. Colors are vibrant without being over-saturated, and the size is a nice balance between 3.8-inches and 4.3-inches. It's a nice Windows Phone, but given the Dell-only sales model (that's right, it's not available in T-Mobile stores), will it be successful? Part 1 of 2. Website: pocketnow.com Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter: twitter.com If you're on T-Mobile, there's two Windows Phone 7's that you might be interested in. The HTC HD7 is easily available in any of the stores that you can go to, but the Dell Venue Pro is only available through Dell's website. Both devices are closely priced, have similar specifications, and run Windows Phone 7 beautifully, but how exactly do they differ? First off, let's look at the hardware. The Venue Pro is a bit heavier at 180g vs. the HD7's 162g. Of course, the Venue Pro does have a better build quality and the slide-out Qwerty thumb-keyboard, so it's also going to be thicker. The HD7 has a better flash on its 5Mp camera, but any photo taken in low-light has a pink tint to it. Furthermore, the Venue Pro's camera button is much easier to press, so even though the HD7 has a better flash, the Venue Pro doesn't require a very hard, shaky squeeze to take a picture (thus causing blur) and it has better color reproduction. The Venue Pro has a 4.1" AMOLED screen with very deep blacks and vibrant color reproduction, however image banding and dithering is much more visible than on the HD7. The HD7 has a larger 4.3" screen, but more washed-out color. In terms of bundled software, the Venue Pro has the same T-Mobile bundled apps; Telenave GPS, T-Mobile TV, My Account, and Family Room... in addition to two other apps; Newsroom and Pageonce Finance. Since the HD7 is made by HTC, you'll also get a bunch of HTC-made ...

Purchased from the Microsoft store in Oakbrook, IL. on 11/8/10 edit: Turns out there is an 8GB sandisk microSD in this phone, located above the SIM and covered in black tape. I know I said 8GB SSD, but I meant an 8GB NAND flash chip is on board. Wifi issus aside, the phone is solid. Any questions, please ask. And thumbs this up!

Dell introduced its Venue Pro Windows Phone 7 phone for the US market yesterday. Julie Hrudicka takes us through the features that make the Venue Pro unique.

Back in December, the Dell Venue Pro's started shipping. We reviewed the 8Gb version and it seemed like the best Windows Phone 7 on the market. Unfortunately if you ordered a 16Gb version, the story might be awfully different. I got my first 16Gb Dell Venue Pro on December 23rd, 2010 and I soon noticed that it would freeze up or go to a totally black screen (except for the clock) while downloading and installing large apps over WiFi. There is a (en.community.dell.com long thread in the Dell support forums about this issue. Those of us experiencing the problem had to call Dell to schedule an exchange. If you called one of the normal Dell support numbers, you will get passed on from representative to representative, each one not knowing really where to forward your call. Once you figure out the phone number for Dell Mobility, which is 1-800-308-3355, you'll actually get service quite quickly. My replacement Dell Venue Pro was supposed to arrive December 30th, but it never did and the order status never changed. I assumed they needed time to fix the problem. Then a new Dell Venue Pro arrived on my doorstep on January 18th! Unfortunately, the new 16Gb Dell Venue Pro had the same problem.

HTC Arrive vs. Dell Venue Pro Dogfight Part 1 by Aaron It's the battle of the QWERTY Windows Phone 7 devices, as Aaron pits Sprint's HTC Arrive against the Dell Venue Pro. The Arrive is $199.99 at Sprint and offers a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, 3.6-inch display, 5-megapixel camera with HD video recording capabilities, and a physical landscape QWERTY keyboard. The Dell Venue Pro has the same internal specs but offers a 4-inch AMOLED display and a portrait QWERTY keyboard instead of a landscape one. The features are incredibly similar, but only one can be the dogfight champion. Which one will take the cake? Part 1 of 2. After experiencing a couple of hiccups since it initially launched, it appears as though the Dell Venue Pro is finally turning around and making its grand debut to the masses -- just in time for the holidays; for some though. Although shipment dates may vary for those who purchased the Windows Phone 7 smartphone, some are sure to be surprised to see their gift waiting for them just in time for the holidays. So far, we've seen some stellar Windows Phone 7 devices that truly stand out more than other -- such as the Samsung Focus and HTC HD7. However, the Dell Venue Pro just might have the guts and spark to really supplant all others as possibly the best Windows Phone 7 device thus far. www.phonearena.com
