Here we review the software of the Dell Venue, which is running Android 2.2. It has the Dell stage UI, meaning that there are multiple widgets that take up entire homescreens. There's a music, home, gallery, email, twitter, and facebook widget. Also in terms of software there is an updated on screen keyboard that feels quite nice when entering text. The HTC HD7 is easily available in any of the stores that you can go to, but the Dell Venue Pro is only available through Dell's website. Both devices are closely priced, have similar specifications, and run Windows Phone 7 beautifully, but how exactly do they differ? First off, let's look at the hardware. The Venue Pro is a bit heavier at 180g vs. the HD7's 162g. Of course, the Venue Pro does have a better build quality and the slide-out Qwerty thumb-keyboard, so it's also going to be thicker. The HD7 has a better flash on its 5Mp camera, but any photo taken in low-light has a pink tint to it. Furthermore, the Venue Pro's camera button is much easier to press, so even though the HD7 has a better flash, the Venue Pro doesn't require a very hard, shaky squeeze to take a picture (thus causing blur) and it has better color reproduction. The Venue Pro has a 4.1" AMOLED screen with very deep blacks and vibrant color reproduction, however image banding and dithering is much more visible than on the HD7. The HD7 has a larger 4.3" screen, but more washed-out color. In terms of bundled software, the Venue Pro has the same T-Mobile bundled apps; Telenave GPS, T-Mobile TV, My Account, and Family Room... in addition to two other apps; Newsroom and Pageonce Finance. Since the HD7 is made by HTC, you'll also get a bunch of HTC-made <b>...</b>

The Dell Venue, like the Venue Pro, has exceptionally high build quality. But it's also a bit heavy compared to other phones. It has a mix of glass and different textures of plastic. The screen has a nice curvature to it which gives the display a high degree of sensitivity. Inside it's packing a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU with 512MB of RAM and 16GB of storage. The huge 4.1" AMOLED display is not as crisp as the Galaxy S devices, but much nicer than a typical LCD, as found on the HTC EVO or HD2.

Dell Venue Pro Review Part 2 by Aaron Aaron does a video review of the Dell Venue Pro, Dell's first Windows Phone 7 device and one of two to offer a physical QWERTY keyboard. It has the usual specs - 1 GHz Snapdragon processor and a 5-megapixel camera - but it has a great 4.1-inch AMOLED display that's curved on the edges. Colors are vibrant without being over-saturated, and the size is a nice balance between 3.8-inches and 4.3-inches. I have not posted a video in a very long time mostly too busy with work and school but its winter break and I just got a new phone. The Dell Venue pro. My initial impressions are that it was thinner than I expected and the materials and weight really give it a quality feel. It is just a beautiful device.

Dell Streak that was stuck on Dell boot up Logo How to Downgrade Dell Streak from Android 2.1 to Android 1.6 Method 1 1. Download the stock recovery ROM and stock official Dell ROM. Make sure Dell PC suite has installed. 2. Rename the stock official Dell ROM to "Update.pkg" and copy it to your Dell Streak SD card. 3. Turn on your Dell Streak while holding camera button to boot Streak into fast boot mode. 4. Tap on "Fast boot Mode" button, wait 10 seconds then connect to your PC. 5. Open a command prompt, and navigate to the folder where your "fast boot-windows.exe" is stored. 6. Enter "fastboot-windows.exe -i 0x413c flash recovery c:\recovery.stock.img". Make sure the .img file is in c:\ directory. The program will now update the recovery image to your Dell Streak. 7. Once the phone displays "Recovery Done", remove the battery and insert it again. 8. Hold down vol up and vol down button while turning on your Streak to boot into Recovery mode, and choose option 2. 9. Wait till it installs and it'll boot into Android. You have finished restoring Dell Streak to factory condition. Method 2 1. Put update.pkg to SD card root folder. 2. Power up Streak whilst holding both volume buttons. 3. Select option 2 - "software upgrade via Update.pkg on SD card" by pressing camera button. 4. Press camera button again Job done.
