The art of offense-the jab step- one more time..for them ignorant mofos..(not a tutorial)-if you wanna learn b-ball thats your problem The Jab step is a basketball move that is also bound by the rules. In other words The left/non dominant foot can not leave it's pivot. The jab step breaks the focus of most one on one defenders and gives you a chance to read and react in a variety of ways to the oppurtunities the denfence provides. Some openings would give a lane for lay ups, others a step back jumpshot, but the most effective is the spin drive fadeaway jump shot. This requires a moderately soft bump to create space,a good jumping ability, mid air balance and perfected shooting This takes a lot of strenght from your legs and shoulders. you jab step.Bounce and drive to the unintended direction. spin to the opposite direction and softly bump into the defender.This put him/her off blance and creates an oppurtunity for and uncontended shot. The ball should be a foot away from chest level during the spin & bump and your shoulders squared up to the basket once facing the basket The left hand should guide and position the ball. The right hand supports and throws the ball. And both hands should keep the follow through of the shot until it appraches the basket. I watched legends and stars play the game of basketball while I grew up. I indirectly learned from their every move. Putting myself in their positions and giving myself their names.
