This is 1 of 3 "Track 1 + Track 2" combos that I have uploaded. The album "In Search of the Lost Chord" is 1 of several albums by the Moody Blues in which the first 2 tracks link together (no pause between songs). It is intended to be heard as if the 2 tracks are only one long song. It doesn't make sense to listen to the first track without hearing the second afterward, so this video is my way of sharing with you the way this music was intended to be heard. The first 7 albums by the Moody Blues all have songs that connect (with the exception of the last song on side 1 and the first song on side 2). The images in this video are the album artwork (front and back).

Total Departure is our release from 2008 on Adam Beyer's Drumcode label. We originally created the track as both a simple and effective DJ tool and for elements we could use in our live sets. We never expected how it would blow up the way it did, we were really surprised. To everyone who supported - Thank you! This video is something I did for fun - as I never tried to produce visuals or edit video before - and to help promote the release. I used the video features of Ableton Live to "time stretch" footage from a space shuttle launch to fit with the music.

I tried to capture, for one last time, the excitement and adrenaline of seeing Concorde take-off, and its effect on those working at the airport (ATC and Rescue Squad comms overheard on my radio), and those watching by the sidelines (listen to the comments, and car horns honking on a nearby road) as Concorde takes off from JFK for the last time. It was FREEZING outside, but was definitely worth it! La Dispute - 01 - a Departure (Wildlife)
This is the first song off La Dispute's new album "Wildlife". Lyrics: Night fell on me writing this and I ran out of paper so I crossed the name out at the top of the page. Not sure why I'm even writing this. But I guess it feels right. It sort of feels like I have to--like an exorcism. I guess that makes me sound crazy but that's alright. Lately I feel like I might be, not that I've heard any voices or anything. Just like that everyday kind, where you forget things you shouldn't and you think too much about death. Maybe you know what I'm talking about. Or maybe you would have known? Or had known? Is it once knew? I don't know what tense to use. I know I never used to feel like this. I used to never think of death or hear voices. I used to feel Like everything was perfectly in order, a normal life, but I guess then came a departure. That I know you understand (or would've understood?). I guess things changed after that, and I'm mostly scared now. But it's there in the stories, or whatever they are. You can see it. Anybody could if they could Look. I wrote some notes in the margins explaining it. The rest is in between lines or in the fine Print. First, the feeling of abandonment, then trying to cope. Then death and hope and the thing Itself, waiting for me. It's all there in the pages ahead of here. It's there waiting for you. Or for me. I'm not sure. The whole story.
