Yay HD!!! Trying out a new digital camera this week... the camera is nice... but it'll take some getting used to I think. D: Those of you that follow me on Tumblr (I do apologize for the almost constant spamming lol) saw the sketch for this about a week and a half or so ago. I really love the illustrations for the Disney Princess Designer collection, especially Rapunzel. The dresses are made of soft material that drapes gracefully around the body and the arms come out of the top in sleeves that are not visible, but still keeps the upper part of the body very sleek. He wanted a look that moves and floats, with a long skirt, soft sleeves, and a belted waist in bright sunset colors like orange-yellow, pink, deep purple, and white. Federico Faggin visited Intel headquarters in late summer of 2011 to share memories from 40 years ago, when teamed up with Ted Hoff and Stan Mazur to create Intel's 4004 chip, which became the world's first single chip microprocessor. Faggin talks about the day in January 1971, when he first tested the chip and it worked flawlessly. That was the day the microprocessor was born, he says, and today it is at the heart of the Internet revolution. He says the microprocessor has become the tiny speck of intelligence that converges communication, computing and control capabilities, connecting all of our devices from computers to small smartphones. His Spring/Summer collection is filled with two things Cavalli has always been known for--sexiness and fringe. He showcases a woman's sexual side without using a lot of color, but the body is enhanced in various exotic ways. He says its not enough to see a runway show for 50 seconds, you have to feel, touch, and see each piece close up to truly understand his method. Veronica Etro seemed to show two sides of herself including everything from the past to the future, metallic to tartan, and forties style femme to 60s style print. Lusuardi says that the collection displays a return to minimalism in terms of minimalist tailoring with an athletic touch. There is also a return to bold fluorescent colors like neon pink, orange, and yellow. The trench, sailor jacket, and day jacket are reinterpreted with new fabrics and double materials, including jersey, which allows the jacket to be worn in a form fitting, smaller size that remains comfortable. The MaxMara team plays with trends like color block and stripes and focuses on the Mary Jane shoe, which is made modern with a rubber heel. Lusuardi says MaxMara is launching a new bag called Olympia, which is worn as both a handbag and shoulder bag.
