Class 350 Desiro DCC Sound test-bed

My latest EMU sound offering, in time for the Bachmann release is the 350 Desiro, recorded with the assistance of those fine London Midland chaps at King's Heath Depot in Northampton, many thanks guys. Quite a tricky one this as there are all kinds of underframe sounds going on at once (Traction Supply Unit, Auxiliary Supply Unit, transformer etc) but I'm happy with the result, eventually. After the cab start sounds you hear the auxiliary compressor which produces air for raising the pantograph. After pan up the various underframe components start up. Then we've got driver's door opening & closing, windscreen wipers (!), passenger doors opening & closing (including a nice multiple door closing effect which I might roll out to the other EMU projects), main compressor, despatch whistle, right away, the now standard playable horns and then the characteristic traction motor sounds on take-off. Lovely.

The route is set in North Yorkshire, and is operated by various classes of British trains, including class 156s and class 142s. The line runs between Harcroft, a small station in North Yorkshire, and and Collier's Stone, via Scourenton-on-Sea, a small sea-side town on the East coast of Britain. The route does feature working AWS, but TPWS is not fitted, as line speeds do not really require it. Harcroft is a small town, but does play host to EWS, who have a large freight terminal located in the area. The access for freight trains, which is primarily Class 60s and 66s, is just north of Harcroft station. Running towards Scourenton, the line heads through Dockcroft, where there is a junction. Trains for Wicker Junction via Bredbury Parkway take the left exit at this junction and head onto the double tracked diesel mainline. NXEC operate this line, so as well as Northern Rail, CrossCountry and TPE operations, HSTs run direct from Harcroft to Wicker Junction every 2 hours. Continuing down the Harcroft line, the town of Belstoke is next, home to Belstoke University of Science. Belstoke is the main station on the line excluding the two termini at Harcroft and Colliers. Continuing north, the line runs through the rolling hills for a further 2 miles, until it reaches Colliers Stone. Just south of the station is a freight loop, which allows freight trains to sit in it, whilst passenger services pass and go into the station. NXEA Class 360 115 Desiro

After arriving in Romford, Nationalexpressea, ldntrains, and emizieisace stepped off the train. I managed to captured the train before it departed for Clacton-On-Sea. Note that 360 115 is currently the only class 360 desiro to boast NXEA's new livery. Similar liver types can be found on the class 321s.
