Today Chronic Dev Team, the ones responsible for the upcoming iOS 5 UNTETHERED Jailbreak have delayed the release further. Apple seems to have one of their exploit which they have been working on to bring the Jailbreak and patched it. This means that the process has to be started all over again and will take some time. The Dev Team announced that they have a few tricks under their sleeves left as well as some other exploit being patched, this isn't the first time. You can help the Dev Team bring you a new Jailbreak by sending them your crash reports. It's really simple and doesn't effect you really in any way. Normally, your crash reports are sent to Apple's servers to "help them". Part of what this does is help Apple find this holes or exploits. So instead of feeding the dragon, fight it by send your crash reports and one might even contain the golden ticket. This video shows you how you can help the Chronic Dev Team make jailbreaks. So as most of you probably know, the iOS 5 untethered jailbreak isn't here yet, and it won't be here anytime soon. But the thing which doesn't help the Dev Team is when a hole that's found in the iOS firmware gets patched. Now what Apple collects from you is crash logs, these are files which secretly get sent to Apple when you plug your device into iTunes. Then Apple looks at the crash logs and finds any holes (which can be used for a jailbreak). So the Dev Team have released CDevReporter, this tool will send your crash logs to them instead of Apple, and the Dev Team will then be able to (hopefully) find the hole that can be used for a new (hopefully untethered) jailbreak.
