As you might have guessed this is part 1 of 3, I will put links in the video and in this description to guide you to the other parts. There really is more to this video than just replacing the rear brakes. I had some trouble during this procedure and decided to keep it on video to help you in the event you ran into any of these problems. I've also added how I jack up a vehicle from the rear. In short this one is packed with a bunch of stuff that I hope you find helpful in addition to just replacing the rear pads and rotors. Front Disc Brakes and How to Replace Them

Well here you are after many requests for this one it's finally here. I shot this last spring but I've been saving it for you as a special present. In this episode we go over the principals of operation and replacement of a basic front disc brake set up. It all starts with a shaking steering wheel and ends with new brakes. I think this is a pretty good video overall and gives the important information you would need to perform this task yourself. A couple of notes. I didn't have time to go over how to isolate a brake pulsation between front or rear in this video. Also, I had a very easy time of getting these rotors off, I can assure you that this is not often the case, I could probably do a video just on removing difficult rotors alone. I may do a video on that in the future as I collect some different scenarios for you. Disc brake conversion on Willys Dana 25/27 Part 1

Check out the updated HD video here: www.youtube.com Here we're going over a few details on the disc brake conversion on a Willys station wagon (same for CJ-2A/3A/3B and pickup). We use 1976-1977 Jeep CJ rotors (the older thicker ones) with the same 5x5.5" bolt pattern, with 6 bolt GM 1/2 ton brake backing plates. These GM backing plates mount straight to the knuckle with no modification. We use 1970s GM 1/2 ton 4x4 calipers, brake lines, and pads. Stay tuned for another video on the requirements for the master cylinder and brake line setup (may battery on my BlackBerry died).
Removing Brake Rotor Screws That Won't Come Out

I think the title covers this one. Honda's are famous for this so I made this little video to help you should you be in this situation. Wear your safety glasses when you do this or whenever you hit things, getting crap in your eye sucks, trust me. Impact drivers can be found at your local tool supplier. If you don't have a hammer I don't know what to tell you. This doesn't seem to require a long explanation so I'm going to stop typing now. Replace front disc brake pads on a 2001 VW Jetta

This is a step by step video showing how I replaced the front disc brake shoes on a 2001 VW Jetta. Note that the rear disc brakes on this model are significantly more difficult, because the emergency brake is intimately associated with the rear caliper. You need special tools to do the rear. I have made some still photos of a rear caliper when I rebuilt it last year. If you want to see those, send me a youtube message. This video is published for entertainment purposes, and is not to be construed as an instruction guide. I am not a professional mechanic.
