VVH-TV News -- Lyme Disease: Medical Nightmare (Part 1)

Lyme disease -- it has become epidemic on Long Island and much of the New York Metropolitan Area, indeed across the United States. But as bad as the illness has become, so has treatment for it -- health insurers have discouraged long-term treatment for what is often a long-term illness. Suffolk County Long Island Legislator Edward Romaine recently held a public meeting on Lyme disease. Eva Haughie, President, Empire State Lyme Disease Association. She has had Lyme disease for nearly 20 years. Her association is based in Manorville. Dr. Joseph Burrascano, East Hampton, New York He is a pioneer in the treatment of Lyme disease. And because of the push by medical insurers to only cover short-term treatment -- two, three or four weeks of antibiotics -- and Dr. Burrascano having developed a protocol for treating the many people who are not cured in the short-term but have chronic Lyme disease, he ended up being attacked. But he came through it and is regarded as a major leader in the field. Staci Grodin, Co-Founder and President, Turn the Corner Foundation. A Lyme Diseases victim, her Turn the Corner Foundation has raised over $2 million and funded important Lyme disease research. Sandy Berenbaum, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Brewster, New York. She has specialized with working with those with chronic Lyme disease. Her accounts were most poignant, and her explanation of why health insurers balk at providing compensation for long-term treatment most illuminating. Diane ...

Brain Eating Disease Outbreak - Australia

Doctor John D'Arcy reveals that a cluster of recent infections in Sydney has been downplayed by health authorities concerned about creating public panic. Babies Willow Mae Bryant and Grace Cairns, who lived on the same street in adjacent suburbs were infected at virtually the same time. 20 year old Sam Ballard, who also lived nearby, was also a victim of one of the most frightening diseases on the planet after he ate a slug as a dare at a party. Their families wonder why more wasn't done to inform the public. Rat Lungworm disease information: * * * Rat Lungworm disease has been documented in Australia, Asia, the Pacific region, the Caribbean and the United States. Most infections are not severe but in the worst cases rat lungworm disease causes severe meningitis and death. Humans can contract Rat Lungworm disease by eating snails and slugs or material contaminated by slugs and snails. The best way to prevent infection is good sanitation; always wash hands after touching slugs and snails or surfaces contaminated by them. It is also important to thoroughly wash and cook any produce that could be contaminated. Never eat raw snails or slugs. If infected, there may be no symptoms or only mild short lived symptoms. Most cases do not require medical attention. Sometimes the infection causes meningitis with headache, stiff neck, tingling or pain in the skin, fever, nausea, and vomiting. People who develop these symptoms should see their doctor. Rat lung worm infection cannot be ...

#5 Warewolf Syndrome: Hypertrichosis (also called Warewolf Syndrome) is an abnormal amount of hair growth on the body; extensive cases of hypertrichosis have informally been called werewolf syndrome. There are two distinct types of hypertrichosis: generalized hypertrichosis, which occurs over the entire body, and localized hypertrichosis, which is restricted to a certain area. Hypertrichosis can be either congenital (present at birth) or acquired later in life. The excess growth of hair occurs in areas of the skin with the exception of androgen-dependent hair of the pubic area, face, and axillary regions. #4 Blaschko's lines: Blaschko's lines, also called the Lines of Blaschko, are skin lines invisible under normal conditions. They become apparent when some diseases of the skin or mucosa manifest themselves according to these patterns. They follow a "V" shape over the back, "S" shaped whorls over the chest, stomach, and sides, and wavy shapes on the head. The lines are believed to trace the migration of embryonic cells. The stripes are a type of genetic mosaicism. They do not correspond to nervous, muscular, or lymphatic systems. The lines can be observed in other animals such as cats and dogs. German dermatologist Alfred Blaschko is credited for the first demonstration of these lines in 1901. #3 Blue Skin Disorder: A large family simply known as the "blue people" lived in the hills around Troublesome Creek in Kentucky until the 1960s. Knowing Women's Risk of Heart Disease

This is the VOA Special English Health Report , from voaspecialenglish.com | http Heart disease is the world's leading cause of death. Yet most cases can be prevented. Doctors say reducing deaths from heart disease will require not only changes in the way people live. It will also require changes in public policy, and better public knowledge about differences in heart disease between men and women. Two conditions, coronary artery disease and microvascular disease, can both reduce blood flow to the heart. Experts at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston say heart disease in women is more likely to be caused by microvascular disease. Finding this condition may require tests other than an angiogram. An angiogram is a kind of X-ray test. Doctors use it to look for a buildup of fatty plaque material that can block arteries. Arteries carry oxygen-rich blood away from the heart to the rest of the body. The World Health Organization says heart disease kills eighteen million women a year. And these are not just older women. Carrie Vincent had a heart attack after giving birth to her first child at the age of thirty-one. Ms. Vincent is now taking her message to women at meetings in their homes through an organization called Sister to Sister. Irene Pollin started Sister to Sister to educate women about heart disease. Ms. Pollin urges women to learn about their blood pressure, cholesterol levels and other risk factors for heart disease. Ms. Pollin teamed up with a heart specialist ...

COPD stands for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is characterized by a long-term blockage in the airways. Most of the time, COPD means you have bronchitis or emphysema that won't go away, which can lead to both immediate and lasting damage to your lungs and body. What Happens with COPD? When we breathe, air enters the lungs and moves through small tubes, called bronchial tubes. At the end of each of these bronchial tubes are small, balloon like sacs called alveoli. These act as filters between the air in the lungs and the blood that moves throughout the body. The thin walls of the alveoli allow oxygen from the air to go into the bloodstream and carbon dioxide to pass from the bloodstream into the lungs to be exhaled. This is what keeps the body's cells alive and functioning. In people with COPD caused by emphysema, the alveoli filters become damaged. Their elasticity becomes reduced, limiting the ability for the alveoli to move as you inhale and exhale. They also become permanently enlarged, which increases the overall ...

Aging Diseases and Glutathione

www.energyWithoutDrugs.com?YouTube_AgingDiseases explanation of why the glutathione accelerators, MaxOne and MaxGXL produce such remarkable results. Aging is like a disease that responds to glutathione (GSH) level increases. Glutathione is the most important anti-oxidant in the body and if is key to flushing heavy metals (mercury and others) from the cells. Glutathione reduces cellular inflammation, probably the source of nearly every human disease known to science. Decreased levels of Glutathione cause a reduction in production of ATP, which means low energy levels and a weakened immune system and defenses. Everyone over 20, and many people under 20, should be taking either MaxGXL or MaxOne daily. A very beneficial side effect is greatly improved sleep, naturally. Low GSH levels result in inflammation which is indicated as a primary, or contributing, cause for nearly all human diseases, including arthritis, autism, MS, chronic fatigue syndrome, and many more. It is literally impossible to be in good health unless your GSH level is adequate. There are links to many sources of information about GSH on www.energyWithoutDrugs.com. There are over 90000 technical articles about it on the National Institute for Health website, pubmed.com. Our products are the ONLY products that have been clinically tested and proven to raise Glutathione (by ~300%) in HUMANS. Beware of products that boast of producing Glutathione increases in rodents or a test tube.
