The first was when I brought the car home from storage and for many reasons never got farther on it. Then my friend and mentor Mike Fennel offered me a spot in his shop and I jumped at the opportunity. With the help of my good friend Jamey Smith, who has built and restored dozens of cars (including several 69 Dodge Charger General Lees), we loaded the Maverick on a trailer and cleared a spot for it at Mikes. I took this chance to have the two of them look over the car as it sits to see if there is anything they would change before we move forward. Turns out, the car is in pretty good shape! Now it's time to chase down some very important parts and see if we can get the thing started. My budget has been completely demolished over the last few years with other projects and just surviving so I'm going to have to be very creative on funding. This video series will try to keep fans of the build up do date with the status and try to stir up interest for any sponsors that might want to help. Today I was able to pull the engine and transmission out of the car so the next phase of modifications could be made. First, because the engine is mounted so low in the vehicle to fit under the stock hood...the oil pan is going to need fairly serious modification to give a practical amount of ground clearance. Next, I wanted to turn the engine upside down to dump the dog food that a rat had stashed in the intake manifold galley and get ready for the cam swap which will be in an upcoming video. The Dodge Viper is one of the first V10-powered cars in the world, made by the Dodge division of Chrysler. Production of the two seat sports car began at New Mack Assembly in 1991 and moved to its current home at Conner Avenue Assembly in October 1995. The car, and numerous variations, has made many appearances in TV shows, video games, movies, and music videos[citation needed]. Although Chrysler considered ending production because of financial problems,[1][2] chief executive Sergio Marchionne announced and showed on September 14, 2010 a redesign of the Viper for 2012.[3] The Viper was conceived as a historical take on the classic American sports car. The iconic AC Cobra was a source of inspiration, and the final version of the Viper bears this out with its powerful engine, minimalist straightforward design, muscular and aggressive styling, and high performances. Dodge Viper ACR Recaptures Lap Record at Nurburgring
A look at the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR's production-car, lap record lap of 7:12.13 at the world-famous 12.9-mile Nurburgring Nordschleife track in Germany, Sept. 14, 2011. Veteran GT driver Dominik Farnbacher was at the wheel for the lap, which beat the previous record by two seconds.

Then step right up and take a look at this showroom fresh 2002 Final Edition Dodge Viper! Virtually new in every way, this Final Edition Phase II features bright Viper Red paint and Stone White decals which pay tribute to the Oreca cars that dominated Le Mans. Like most Vipers, it has been a carefully tended toy rather than a daily driver or even a track weapon; and as a result, has led a very easy California life which included sunny day only driving at mostly interstate level quickness. The engine under this cars massive clamshell hood needs no introduction. Displacing 8 liters and turning a stout 9.6 to 1 compression ratio into 450 horsepower and 490 lb./ft. of torque, this 488 cubic inch aluminum beast is one of the most outrageous powerplants ever bolted between the fenders of a production car. Dodge designers knew the big mill would be the cars focal point, so they went out of their way to dress it up a bit by coating the ram tuned aluminum intake manifold and cast aluminum valve covers in a slick coat of bright red paint and menacing Viper logos. In fact, it's such an impressive piece that I'm really surprised the Mopar guys didn't put a Lexan window in the hood like Team Corvette did for their new ZR1. We're not terribly surprised that the Dodge Viper ACR has apparently made it around the famed German racing circuit faster than pretty much anything else you'll find on a dealer's lot. After all, the ACR is a race car, as evidenced by the video that Motor Trend has posted. The most venomous Viper has done the deed in 7:22, fast enough to make grown men cry. this result is FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) driver Tom Coronel, who pilots a Leon TFSi for SEAT Team Holland. On his fourth attempt, he established an amazing 7:22.1 (first two laps-a 7:42 and a 7:35 and third 7:24).
