The end fight of In the line of Duty 4 from Yuen Woo ping. This movie was made in 1990. Donnie Yen is the man right now. He is the best martial art performer on the silver screen. For me, the 80's and 90's were the years Jackie Chan ruled the martial arts films business, followed closely by Jet Li in the 90's. But now, Donnie is king!! Tony Jaa is good but not quite the all around master that Donnie is. His recent films : Killzone and Ip Man are two gems of the genre. Ip Man 2 is going to be so good, specialy if Sammo plays a role in it.

Thanks to DiP, we have the Ip Man Teaser Trailer. So I'm promoting this movie like crazy!! Synopsis: In the 1930s, Foshan thrives as the hub of Chinese wushu, with various sects actively recruiting disciples. They often compete against each other to prove their strengths. While Yip Man is an accomplished martial artist, he is unassuming and keeps a low-profile, and doesn't run any martial arts school nor accept students. He only stays at home, quietly sparring with his compatriots in friendly competitions, swapping pointers with each other. One day, Yip Man (Donnie Yen) is challenged by Master Liao (Chen Zhi Hui), who just set up a wushu school, in a closed match. Yip Man's buddy Martial Zealot Lin (Xing Yu), who witnessed the entire fight, tells everyone about Master Liu losing. Seeing it as a public humiliation, Master Liao gets into disputes with Yip Man. Henchmen of Jin Shan Zhao (Fan Siu Wong) are going around challenging various wushu schools in Foshan. In one fight, Martial Zealot Lin is mortally wounded. Yip Man comes to his rescue, only to be stopped by Jin Shan Zhao. Everyone gathers around to watch the match whereby Ip Man dispenses the latter with ease using four Wing Chun Forms: fist, footwork, blade and cudgel. Ip Man becomes an instant hero and there develops a craze for Wing Chun in Foshan. Following Japanese invasion in 1937, everyone's life is adversely affected. Yip Man's property is confiscated and his family is forced to live in a decrepit house ...

Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen is set in the period before the Second Sino-Japanese War, after the apparent death of Chen Zhen, who was shot after avenging his teacher (Huo Yuanjia) in Fist of Legend. Chen joins a group of Chinese men to help the Allies fight the Germans in France during World War I. He returns to China after the war, taking on the identity of Qi Tianyuan, a fellow comrade who was killed in action. Back in Shanghai, Chen joins an underground resistance movement to stop the Empire of Japan from invading China. He befriends Liu Yutian, a businessman and owner of a nightclub frequented by foreign dignitaries. At the same time, he is romantically attracted to Kiki, a nightclub singer who is actually a Japanese undercover agent. One night, Chen discovers that the Japanese are planning to assassinate General Zeng, the son of a northern warlord, and push the blame to General Zhuo, a rival warlord. Zeng's death will spark off a civil war between the two warlords and aid the subsequent Japanese invasion. Chen disguises himself as a masked superhero (based on The Green Hornet's sidekick Kato) and defeats the assassins and saves Zeng. With the operation failed, Tokyo sends a name list of prominent anti-Japanese activists to Colonel Chikaraishi Takeshi, leader of the Japanese secret agency in Shanghai, ordering him to kill the people on the list within a month. Chikaraishi leaks out the list, causing panic among the populace, and pays a visit to the ...

Okay, Donnie Yen is supposed to be a vampire too. He is up against a second generation, a mutated vampire that feeds on other vampires - and basically the only one who can handle the incoming. His death scene is cut out of Blade 2 - you do see a nosferatu fiesting on a corpse, and the plot development suggests it's Snowman. I guess they couldn't really imagine Donnie getting his butt kicked...

Donnie Yen kicking ass on film is another cause of celebration. He will once again tangle with those Imperialist bastards playing a patriotic hero, Chen Zhen (previously played by Bruce Lee and Jet Li) taken dead for 7 years. This hero suddenly reappears, disguised as a wealthy businessman and a caped crusader at night saving the people from mafia and Japanese. Joining Yen will be the ubiquitous Anthony Wong and the lovely Shu Qi, who Western audiences may remember as the damsel in distress in Transporter.

Flash Point was repeatedly hailed as a prequel to the 2005 film SPL: Sha Po Lang, which was Wilson Yip and Donnie Yen's first feature-film collaboration as director and star respectively. Yen denied the SPL sequel reports, claiming that Flash Point was a completely original film. Principal photography began in Hong Kong from November 2006 to March 2007. For his conception of Flash Point's major fight sequences, Yen relied on the use of mixed martial arts, working alongside an international group of martial artists. His work as a choreographer won him "Best Action Choreography" awards at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards and the 2008 Golden Horse Film Awards. Full movie in HD

Donnie Yen is one of the greatest martial artist of today -- and the future. His works are so real . . . so thoroughly detailed. It is hard not to watch a movie if he is part of the cast. Donnie Yen certainly knows how to keep the viewers' attentions. You never know what he might do next. Music composed by Antonio Jerome Newell. "Bridging Mainstream, New Age and Urban." Choreographed by Donnie Yen. The best fight in the movie with cleverly used acrobatics, incredible kicking and some of the most frantic exciting choreography ever put to film. There is an interview of Mak Wai Cheung on my page, as well as the other fights from this movie.

TODAY's upload is a fast paced trailer for Platinum edition DVD release of Hong Kong martial arts adventure - IRON MONKEY. Trailer is in my oppinion nicely done with fine music background and atmospheric voice narration. Movie is worth it - especially if you like martial arts movies in wuxia style and watch the Platinum edition that includes many bonuses and infos about HK cinema and cast. This one is really one of HK LEGENDS :-). Iron Monkey is a 1993 Hong Kong movie by director and martial arts choreographer Yuen Woo Ping (later become widely famous in the west through his Matrix work). Produced by Tsui Hark. For this breathtaking epic adventure set in late Ching dynasty, acclaimed action director Yuen Woo-ping combines incredible dynamic, high-flying fight-action and stunning cinematography with a classic wuxia story of courage, honour and sacrifice. International action superstars Donnie Yen and Yu Rong Kwong give nice performances as two legendary warriors who must put their lives on the line to defeat the barbaric excesses of a corrupt political regime and protect the lives of the people and child who later becomes "The Legend" Wong Fei Hong. The DVD with many nice bonuses in this Platinum edition is worth seeing. Movie is not as ambitious as ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHINA, including some comedy sequences but avoiding non-sensical sense of humour. Despite its qualities, Iron Monkey was unfortunately a flop at the HK box office. ------ Director : Yuen Woo Ping Producer ...

Chen Zhen (traditional Chinese: 陳真; pinyin: Chén Zhēn) is a fictional Chinese martial artist, often portrayed as a student of Huo Yuanjia. His story is loosely based on the life of Huo Yuanjia's first student, Liu Zhen-Sheng (劉振聲). Chen Zhen was earlier portrayed both by actor Bruce Lee in the film The Chinese Connection (both earlier and later known as Fist of Fury) as well as Jackie Chan in the film New Fist of Fury. In 1982, RTV (now ATV) produced The Fist [1] as a follow-up to to the previous year's highly successful Legendary Fok about Huo Yuanjia. Bruce Liang reprised his role as Chen Zhen, picking up a new storyline after The Legendary Fok. With its big budget and extensive promotion, The Fist was an ambitious effort for RTV at the time, and paid off with viewership ratings approaching 50%, handily beating its TVB contender. This classic RTV drama co-stars Candice Yu, Lau Wai Man, Choi King Fai, and Bill Tung. In this 20 episode series, after avenging his master Fok Yuen Gap's death, Chen Zhen becomes a wanted criminal. With the assistance of the Shanghai mayor, he manages to escape by faking his own death, and moves to Beijing with Fok's son Dung Kok (later the subject of a second sequel [2]) where they live quietly away from the world's eyes. Chen's identity is eventually revealed however when he comes into conflict with Japanese official Sato, putting his life into danger but also igniting his nationalist fervor. While Sato plans his revenge, Chen resolves ...
