The weather in England is usually the material for non-stop jokes, but when the sun shines as it did during the shooting of this video in May 2009, it wasn't a joke. The city was bathed in glorious sunshine. After a couple of dreary summers, the week of spring weather brought out Londoners shading their unaccustomed eyes into the sunshine. Pubs set up outside tables, overcoats were taken off and weather it was a proper British Pint or a sandwich or even the ever present Starbucks coffee, the fine weather was more than ever a reason for people to smile, enjoy life and realize that however grim the economy might be, England's weather was on the rise. One of London's hidden secrets is sequestered below the streets. The London Silver Vaults is even unknown to some of the London cabbies. Deep within the city of London, The Silver Vaults were originally known as The Chancery Lane Safe Deposit which opened in 1876 and rented vault rooms mainly to London's wealthy elite in order to safeguard their household silver, jewelry and personal documents. But over time, especially during the war years, silver dealers took over the vaults and it became known as a place to find fine quality at good prices. Since 1953, the Silver Vaults have existed in their present form and one can find everything silver from cutlery, silver platters, goblets, shakers to silver marmite jar covers. In this segment, we get a taste of all Godin's newest models and upgrades from all their brands, including the Richmond Belmont & Dorchester, Redline Custom Original Art Series, Godin Session Guitar and Shifter Bass, Norman ST40 Folk acoustic and the Simon & Patrick Cutaway GT Series. The Richmond Belmont now comes with 3 Seymour Duncan pickups a '59 (bridge) and two lipstick singlecoils, licensed Bigsby trem and a new white body color. The Richmond Dorchester now comes in vintage cream with black binding and natural wood finishes and licensed Bigsby trems. The Redline Custom Original Art Series are new graphic finishes within the Redline III framework with Floyd Rose trems and EMG 81 & 85 pickups. The graphic art finishes are designed by Montreal artist Giulio Pampena and the four model names are the Redline III Roadkill HG, Redline III Cherry-Bomb HG, Redline III Carnage SG and the Redline III Celtic-Tatt HG. The Godin Session has two Godin singlecoils and a Godin humbucker with push-pull coil-taps and features a Canadian Laurentian basswood body and rock maple neck. The Godin Shifter bass features three soapbar pickups with a Canadian Laurentian basswood body and rock maple neck and either a maple or rosewood fingerboard.
