
[Instructions en francais se trouvent ci-dessous]Ingredients (makes about 24 doughnuts):1 1/2 C white flour,1/2 C corn flour,3/4 C sugar,1 T + 1 t baking powder,1/2 t salt,2 eggs,1/2 C pilsner beer,2 T oil,1/4 t vanilla extract.In a heavy pot, pour oil about 3" deep and heat on medium-high for about 5 minutes, then reduce heat to medium-low. In a large bowl, mix dry ingredients, then add liquids and egg and stir to make a smooth, thick batter. Use two spoons to scoop out walnut-sized balls of batter and drop them into the hot oil. Allow each side to cook for 10 seconds to achieve a round doughnut shape, then continue cooking approximately four minutes, turning occasionally, until doughnuts are uniformly dark golden brown and cooked all the way through. Drain on paper towels and serve hot. Ingredients (24 beignets): 200g farine de ble, 75g farine de mais, 150g sucre, 1 cas + 1 cac levure chimique, 1/2 cac sel, 2 oeufs, 115 ml biere (pilsner, "Three Horses Beer" de preference), 2 cas huile, 1/4 cac vanille. Chauffez l'huile de friture sur un feu moyen-bas (3.5/10). Dans un gros bol, melangez les ingredients sec, puis ajouter les liquides et les oeufs pour en faire une pate lisse. Faites frire les beignets quatre minutes (tournez chaque beignet de temps en temps pour qu'ils soient bien dores de chaque cote). Egouttez et mangez chaud.
