Lost Souls B-sides Lost Souls is the debut album by the band Doves, and was released on April 3, 2000. The album was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize in 2000, but lost out to Badly Drawn Boy's The Hour of Bewilderbeast. The band had previously played as Badly Drawn Boy's backing band, having played on the Badly Drawn Boy songs "Pissing in the Wind" and "Disillusion," as well as Badly Drawn Boy's 1999 non-album single "Road Movie." Doves were originally known as Sub Sub, making disco/techno music. An electrical fire in their recording studio destroyed three years of their material. It was shortly after this point that they decided to change direction and reform themselves as Doves. This album followed soon after Doves released three preceding EPs: Cedar EP, Sea EP, and Here It Comes. The US release contains three additional bonus tracks: "Darker," "Valley," and "Zither" (all of which were previously released on singles and EPs in the UK). BA Great Britons - 'The Dove' aircraft time-lapse video
As part of our BA Great Britons programme, designer Pascal Anson was chosen to create a unique aircraft livery to celebrate London 2012. His beautiful design is based on a dove, the symbol of peace. Tens of thousands of customers travelling to Europe over the next year will have the chance to fly on one of nine celebratory 'Dove' aircrafts, created by artist-designer Pascal from Brighton. His mentor, Turner-prize nominated artist Tracey Emin, unveiled the first Dove at British Airways engineering bay on 3 April 2012. His design is all encompassing of the livery, using the cockpit for its beak, fuselage and wings for its main body and wings, and the tailfin as its tail. The aircraft will be painted white with gold strokes of paint to represent the feathers. Doves are internationally recognised as a symbol of peace and social unity, and were also used in previous Olympic Games ceremonies, including the last London Games in 1948. BA Great Britons mentor, Tracey Emin said: "The first time I saw Pascal's design it made me smile. The plane is universal. Everyone will understand it. I like the way it brings back the excitement of travel too. I will constantly be looking up every time I hear a plane fly over -- you never know, maybe I will turn into a plane spotter!" Just a sad song that's been on my mind w/ lyrics. First heard this song from watching the season finale of Queer As Folk... and might I add... what a heart wrenching finale for us QAF fanatics. I still have difficulty getting through the scene that this song is featured in. That's why I decided to post it with lyrics... without that scene... lol! This song fits the ending perfectly... Justin had to leave so that he could full-fil his potential, but I know that he will eventually come back to Brian after he conquers the artworld in New York. Their love is just too strong for any other ending! This song is even more excellent with the volume turned way up!
