PIMPZ, Poëtry In Motion ProductionZ, www.pimpz.be DISKO DRUNKARDS MAKE YOUR BODY TALK From the depths of the infamous Glimmers basement HQ rises an infectious groove, a rumbling clatter of analogue beats, synth stabs and bellowing bass. At the heart of this, six shady figurines. They call themselves the Disko Drunkards. Four seasoned musicians sweating out red-hot funk licks, razor sharp breaks and gibberish scatting. Conducting this noisy barrage: Mo & Benoelie AKA The Glimmers; feeding their lifelong affection for schizoid disco and off kilter club music into these henchmen as if they were a battery of walking, talking samplers the duos mammoth record collection a source of sonic inspiration. Disko Drunkards were conceived during late night jam sessions kick-started in 2005 with a steaming take on Jesus Loves The Acid, a long time Glimmers fave from Ecstasy Club. Their sleazy rendition of Olivia Newton Johns legwarmer classic Lets Get Physical (commissioned by Swedish clothing company WeSC), although not released commercially, became a staple on national radio playlists. More impromptu, on-the-spot recorded jams followed, the rough sketches later edited by The Glimmers into full bodied tracks. The aftermath of these intense showdowns is a 12-track, self ...

Uwabami Breakers Soundtrack ~ A Drunkard's Lemuria - (Only slightly increased) Speed!

This is a re-upload of my sped-up version of Amakasu Barley Tenji's theme from Uwabami Breakers. The earlier version had a more noticeable increase which did break the tune out of its original groove in several ways. Anyway, through much trial and error I have found this to be the ultimate speed for it. :D Also, I appologize for the brief cut/jump at the looping of the song - I couldn't be bothered to spend the time required to smoothen it out.

Kirk Dubb Modern Drunkard's Drunkard of the month

About the Artist - www.kirkdubb.com www.myspace.com/kirkdubb Kirk Dubb "No Hope...Just Booze & Madness..." What do you say about an artist like Kirk Dubb? He has the heart of a poet, the mind of a derelict, and he has just unleashed a debut CD that should impact hip-hop with all the sobriety and subtlety of a detox ward. Booze and Madness proudly displays the drunken dexterity of Kirk Dubb, whose uniquely fermented spin on the rap game is a frothy brew consisting of equal parts Iceberg Slim, King Ad Rock, and Foster Brooks. Make no mistake. The science is as sloshed as it is sociopathic. It is also unapologetic, and undeniably REAL. Kirk Dubb came up on old school rap legends like Kool G Rap and Digital Underground. But his flow comes as much from Bukowski as it does the Beasties. Sample lyrics: "I'd rather throw up than grow up"; "Pass me another and another like I'm Charles Bukowski's brother". When Kirk Dubb found his hip-hop religion, he found it floating in the bottom of a pint of Guinness. And he hasn't strayed far since... "I come from a proud lineage of drunkards and gamblers," Kirk humbly explains. When no less than Kid Rock heard one early Kirk Dubb track, "This Is It", he offered to remix it on the spot, saying he would make the inebriated emcee an "underground icon." Unfortunately for Kirk Dubb, the Kid also signed with Atlantic the same week, putting what was sure to be an intoxicating collaboration (and a record breaking bar tab) on permanent hold. Drunkard's Doom - The Louvin Brothers

From the close-harmony brother acts of the '30s evolved Charlie and Ira Louvin, ranking among the top duos in country music history. With Ira's incredibly high, pure tenor and Charlie's emotional and smooth melody tenor, they learned well from the Bolick brothers (the Blue Sky Boys), the Monroe Brothers, the Delmore Brothers, and other major family duos of the previous generation, preserving the old-time flavor while bringing this genre into the '50s, when country music moved to a newer sound. Whatever type of songs they recorded -- gospel, folk, hillbilly, or '50s pop -- those songs became the Louvins'. Add to the list the many Louvin compositions (for example, "If I Could Only Win Your Love," Emmylou Harris' first hit), and you have an act that is outstanding in country music history. Their career took awhile to get going, partly because of interruptions from WWII and the Korean War. In the early '50s, after making a reputation for unexcelled gospel singing, the Louvins broadened their repertoire, recording "The Get Acquainted Waltz" (with Chet Atkins adding another guitar to Charlie's and to Ira's mandolin), a fair hit that showed success was reachable with non-religious music. The electric guitar, with the duo's unique harmony and Ira's exceptional tenor, created a sound that fans asked for in increasing numbers. In 1955, after ten unsuccessful auditions, they finally joined the Opry, where they performed to great acclaim until 1963, when they broke up. They had a ...
