This was a very memorable trip, and I recommend it highly to any interested backpackers out there! STEVE'S STORM CAM 1-11-2010

It was pretty darn windy here in Gold Beach today, with wind currents whipping around in advance of some much heavier weather arriving by sometime tomorrow. Just as the light was beginning to dim late this afternoon, the wave action became even more furious, so I decided to set the camera up looking out of Pat's bedroom window in order to capture some of it. And yes, I cheated a bit in that I used the zoom, so our house isn't quite so close as it might appear to the storm-tossed shoreline. Pat uploaded some of her own "big splashy wave" footage this evening over on her channel: www.youtube.com and she definitely did more of a labor-intensive job in packaging her footage. I, on the other hand, merely trimmed out those occasional moments when the focus went a little off, picked a couple favorite songs relating to the sea, and presto... Welcome to Steve's Weather Channel.

Caledonia- Dougie MacLean

Sticking to the Scottish theme, this a truly beautiful song by Dougie MacLean about memories. This brings back memories of my High School, as I used this during one of the assemblies I presented. Brings a tear to my eye every ime I hear it.
