Mercedes Benz E280 w124 100-200km/t
I uploaded this mostly for the über awesome M104 sound! I simply love the roar when it shifts down to 3. gear! Had to stop becuase there was not a lot of stretch left. I don't think this is a very fast car, but consedering the cost of an old w124 and the fact that it is a bone stock nearly 20 year old car and that it runs on about 8litre/100km I think these cars are great value for money! I had an 300E(M103 engine) before, and I think that one was quicker, but this feels quicker for some reason. I think it's because the variable valve timing kicks in at about 4000 rpm and it feels like som kind of "boost" :) Here's more heavenly M104-sound www.youtube.com It's sort of sad compared to this www.youtube.com But where I live you can get about 10 E280's for the price of 1 E500 :/ Still worth it, though^^

The road was dry but in 1st and 2nd the wheels were slipping, that's why it's accelerating slowly in the beginning. The traction control is also working. 5-speed automatic. Lovely staight six engine with awsome sound :). Conditions: 2 persons, +30C outside temperature, air condition on, dry but slippery road.

Just a short vid of my old 94' E280 I recorded mostly just for the sound of a kickdown with the M104! :DI only recorded kickown down to first gear for my own and others safety, it's quite distracting to record video while driving! If you didn't know already, the E280 has a 24valve 2.8litre straight six, producing 193hp@5500rpm and 270 Nm@3750rpm and weighs 1,5 metric tonne, so it's far from a racecar... The car in this vid has stock exhaust all the way, very comfy but also very boring as you won't hear the engine unless you kickdown:( Oh, and this car has the 4speed 722.433 automatic transmission... If you're wondering what the little piece of tape is doing on the dashboard, it's there to cover up the "bulb failure" light since it's constantly lit after i converted to bi-xenon, and that's even more distracting than taping video^^ Here's one with 100-200 www.youtube.com

Fantastic W124 E280 doing a 0-100km/h run. 5 speed automatic, kickdown. I've posted a 0-160km/h video of this car some time ago but the road was slippery so it wasn't a fast run. This one gives out 7.7 secs or so from when the revcounter starts moving till 100.
