This film shows trains at Jurong East Interchange Station which is on the Singapore MRT - Mass Rapid Transport - network. At the time of filming it was served by East West line through trains (which use the outher two tracks) and trains on the short Branch Line service (which used the centre track plus two platform faces). The Branch Line was very short, consisting of just four stations. Changes since this film was made include the Branch Line being incorporated in to the North South Line, and to improve safety by making it less likely that passengers fall on to the tracks, the platform edges have been retrofitted with half-height platform screen doors. Some primarily U-Bahn (underground railway / subway) related views filmed in Berlin in April 1990, which was after the wall had been opened but when the city was still divided. 1) Alexanderplatz was the focal point for the Eastern part of Berlin, and here we see some large & small profile U-Bahn trains (note the 'door closing' lights and bells) plus the main Centrum department store and a shop selling 'Western' products for people with 'hard' currency (ie: £, $, DM, etc). Not filmed (to avoid possible arrest) were signs inside Centrum in German, French, English and Russian saying that many of the goods on display could only be sold to people with Berlin Residency Cards (ie: people from the part of Berlin in the former DDR / GDR). There is also a ride inside a small profile U-Bahn train. 2) Wittenbergplatz was part of the focal point for the Western part of Berlin, and here we see a gift from London Transport, some small profile U-Bahn trains (note the lack of any type of 'door closing' alarms) plus some internal & external views of the restored station booking hall and the nearby large KaDeWe department store. 3) A ride through some closed stations inside a large profile U-Bahn train on line U8. After the building of the wall in 1961 the U8 only carried West Berliners, linking suburbs to the north and the south of the city via Alexanderplatz but with the stations in the Eastern controlled part of Berlin being sealed so that no-one could enter / leave them and armed guards <b>...</b>

Okinawa, sixty miles long and from two to twenty eight miles wide, is the largest and most important of the Ryukyu Islands. The 500000 Okinawans were not then considered to be Japanese. Japanese Lt. Gen. Mitsuru Ushijima commanded the Thirty second Army, strength of 77000 troops, who with naval forces and some 20000 Okinawan conscripts provided about 100000 defenders. On the 27th of December, 537/538 embarks on its first day of revenue service on the Changi Airport Branch Line (part of EWL). Acting as TRN003, it ferried its first passengers from Tanah Merah MRT at 7.20pm that evening when it came fresh from Changi Depot. Throughout the journey filmed from XPO to CGA in the video, the tunnel lights were on, and in another occasion, the train grounded to a halt at one point as it had to wait for train departing the station to pass the CGA crossover tracks before it can proceed with its arrival.
