Eater of Worlds can be summouned by destroying 3 shadow Orbs or summouned at any time using Worm Food which is made from 30 Vile Power and 15 Rotten Chunks, both farmed in areas of Corruption. You need to craft the item at a demon altar. You will probaly want at least a full bar of hp, a set of healing potions and gold amour to succeed. A flail is the best weapon to use but a sword can be ok. The boss can drop Shadow Armour on death and will drop plenty of Demonite Ore and Shadow Scales. This was awesome. It gave me more demon scale and demonite ore. and also a demonite chestpiece! The accessories i was using were: the rocketboots, cloud in a bottle, 2 bands of starpowder, a shackle and an obsidian skull. My armor were silver pants and chestpiece and a demonite helmet. (I got that one from batteling him in another world). My weapons were the vilethorn and a demonite sword. I love this game .

Hey guys, so if you didn't see the first video don't worry about it because it was almost the same thing only with another method added on which I'll talk about in another video. This is long enough as it is so no point in making a 10 minute video amiright? Why I remade this is because people were complaining (and rightfully so) that the demonstrations I had included endgame gear including Molten Armour and the Firery Greatsword. This video shows me doing the boss in Iron Armour using the Ball of Hurt and Vilethorn both items obtained from the shadow orbs. If you destroy three orbs then the Eater of Worlds will be summoned so odds are you will get the Vilethorn or Ball of Hurt in those 3 orbs. I think, however, it was put best by confuzzledyma who stated that one guide cannot show you all the methods. I am simply showing you my method and proving to you all that it works. So yes there are plenty of other ways to do this, but I this is mine so base your feedback off that. Also a fact that is very well known but should still be noted is the head does much more damage that the parts of the body and tail. For this reason, if you can avoid the head in anyway that is less lethal (ie jumping on its body) go for it! Enough explanation though guys, I sincerely hope this remake explains the boss more thoroughly and makes it a bit more realistic. Enjoy and leave your comments and constructive criticisms below!

EDIT: This was taken in patch 1.03, as of 1.04 the Eater of Worlds has higher health and defense, in addition, the Phoenix Blaster has reduced damage output. This method still works however will consume more ammo as a result of these changes. A simple tutorial for killing the eater of worlds fast, this method does use ammo but if you have plenty like I do it is by far about as fast a way of killing them as you can get, short of aerial bombardment with dynamite, I tried that by the way and its really hard to hit the worm, also it costs a lot more. hey look at the date.... i know its old right? for this method you will need vile powder and potions to get vile powder you need to get some sand, then make some glass, make a bottle, and place that bottle on your workbench to create an alchemy station. using that you can make potions or "vile powder" to get vile powder you must go to the corruption and collect vile mushrooms. the 2 ways to summon the eater of worlds is too destroy 3 shadow orbs or combine 15 vile powder and 10 rotten meat at a demonic alter ( a spiky black thing found in the corruption or underground randomly during the fight it would be best to do what i did and make an area slightly above ground out of wooden platforms that you can attack through. vile powder has the ability to stay in a area and deal damage to any enemy. keep in mind this is for your first fight only because you cant get anything past gold without killing this thing. i do believe that you can still mine meteorite but the only thing you can get from that is a phaseblade. if you want to farm this creature. id recommend a blue moon, sun fury, or muramursa, only use muramursa if you have feral claws or shadow armor because attack speed is better than raw power

So i was gonna try battling skeletron first but at 6000HP, i thought the eater of worlds would be a better target to try first. I completely forgot to record the first time i battled him so i thought i'd record fighting him 3 times in a row. Despite dying a few times, i think i did rather good. Although the meteorite landing spot at the end of the vid made me rage harder than i've raged before. So i guess the question as to whether a meteorite can land on your place or not has been answered. Yes......yes it can.
